My Crypto-Gravytrain Quest: Can I Turn Time and Effort into Bitcoin billions?

I don't know if this is the best place for my thread but I have to start somewhere.

The purpose of this thread is to keep track of my attempts to make money with Bitcoins and other Altcoins.  Here I'll list the things I'm doing to try and earn Bitcoins (good and bad) and hopefully help myself and others along the way.

I'll update my goals and progress here... I don't have an immediate BTC goal yet but I do have goals to build up my account, rep, blog, social media, etc, and will set BTC goals soon.  To start, I won't set lofty goals because that'll lead to discouragement and possibly quitting in disgust.  Instead, I'll focus on baby steps and complete little things to keep me going.

What I'm currently doing to reach my goals
Different things I am trying in order to earn more BTC and reach my goals as well as observations and results.

• So far I have set up my account here and am trying to make beneficial posts.
• I've got a Twitter account set up and am trying to tweet at least once a day on Bitcoin topics.
• I'm almost done setting up a free blog @ blogspot, although I may have set it up wrong and have to redo it/start over.
• Got a cpuminer going on x11 coins, specifically SYNX... I know, probably not profitable at all but sometimes we do stupid stuff in order to build a nest egg, even a tiny one.(No longer mining this one...)
• I've been visiting a few faucets and earning very small amounts of Bitcoins that way but so far not enough to cash out any.
• I'm working on getting some obsolete mining hardware (because it's cheap and will give me a passive way to earn coins).  I am not worried about electricity on such a small scale and besides, it's included in my rent

If there are more ways I can get started, please share.  I'm open to any and all suggestions.

• I haven't been posting here enough, need to focus on that more...
• Future updates will be moved to my blog, so that I don't have a bunch of places with essentially the same info

My next step is to stop spending so much time making piddly fractions of pennies from faucets and the like and start spending more time offering my services here, creating more content on the blog, etc.

The most money i've made has been by simply buying a fixed amount monthly. Let's say 100 dollars worth of BTC at WHATEVER price it was. In the long run it has paid off and my investment is x3 already. This is specially notable during the 250 dollar months of stability.

Of course if you want to get rich rather quick unless you have some sort of breakthrough idea or something you'll need to take big risks and go long on margin trading.. good luck.

A signature campaign's a no brainer. Your account is too new to be able to make much with it so you could either build it up or buy one.

Good ideas, thank you.  Yeah, I don't expect to get rich overnight.  The plan is to build it up over time and eventually end up with something awesome.  I'd love buy bitcoins every month no matter the price but really don't have extra money to put out like that (yet, haha).  Instead, maybe I can post in the Services section a couple times a month and trade my skills for a little extra BTC to stash away.  Write a few original content articles, install/modify a script or two, and there ya go, I've got a way to save a little BTC every month.

I've tried the risky stuff before, probably try it again sooner or later but can't afford to give it a second thought for now.  lol.

And I completely agree on the signature campaign idea, that'll happen in the near future.  It looks like there are some decent ones that are worthwhile... ONCE I've built up my account to that point.

Edit: Oh yes, I could buy an account too, I like it.  Just have to find work/ways to get enough BTC to do that.

Quick Update:
    I've got two Gridseed Minis running now, maybe generating a penny or two a day.  At least it's something.  
    I also dug out my old 5850 gpu to start mining with it but haven't been able to get that going yet.
    My old crusty laptop gave me a (literally) shocking experience tonight and I had to replace the hard drive and start over so that's a setback.

Note to self... never buy another Toshiba laptop, that's the second one I've had with mystical electrical zapping super powers.

I'll also have to make a new BTC wallet and address now.  D'oh.  When I do I'll post the address here so everyone can track my progress.

Anyway, onward, and um... onward.

I just updated the OP with a few of the things I've been working on including a link to my blog and Twitter account.

Playing around on faucets and whatnot has yielded mediocre results but I've got a tiny bit of BTC, LTC, and DOGE to play with and some info/experience for future blog posts.

My next steps are to get my other social media accounts going, focus on making more posts and building up my rep here, and offering my services in the services thread to help build up a nest egg.

Future updates will be posted on the blog so I'm not spending a ton of time posting the same info everywhere.

Try Mturk. You will have to buy your bitcoin, but it's so much faster than a faucet, and you actually get cash direct  deposited into a bank account. If that account is attached to coinbase, you could buy directly, with a relatively little exchange fee.

I really have to salute you brother..Your method is constructive and positive. I wish all the success in crypto world.

However, I have a suggestion for you. Don't mine bitcoin even if your electricity cost is included in your rent. Try mining altcoins with less difficulty and have a good future outlook. Try searching some exchanges to see the trading volume and shortlist the altcoin to mine accordingly. You will mine more numbers of altcoins than bitcoin. Then exchange these altcoins in to bitcoin using an exchange. You will earn more daily.

Secondly, don't use google adsense. You will earn almost nothing at this stage. Once you have a lot of daily visitors, you can choose to switch back. But as of now, use a-ads.com.

It is profitable and you will earn more to show bitcoin related ads. Try these and let me know the result.

If i where you i would just drop the faucets all together, they just arent time and cost effective. Using faucets you could earn more doing literally anything else. If you can i would reccomend even at todays prices just trying to buy as much as you can afford each month. This is the method i used and it paid off also althougfh i havent bought any in a while now. But everytime i have bought ive thought im paying too much and price is going to go down, yet here we are at almost 700 dollars. If you can even just buying 0.05 or 0.1 a month. It all adds up.

Thank you avikz!  I appreciate your support and your suggestions are very good.  I need to play around with altcoins more because I agree it is much more profitable to mine them and then exchange for BTC.  Any suggestions for a good multi-pool?  I've been trying ipominer.com and kinda have mixed feelings about them.

I agree on adsense, the ads aren't even relevant and my traffic is small... just didn't know what else to use.  So thanks for suggesting a-ads.com, I will try them out.

So, umm... onward some more!

PS - I agree on faucets however, me "wasting" time on them served a couple purposes.  First, it's given me a tiny bit of BTC to play with (I'm currently lending it out for a small % return on Poloniex).  Also, it's given me knowledge and experience with the faucets which has triggered a couple ideas and will lead to future content for my blog.  So while it may be a waste, the time wasn't wasted.  :-)

Mining bitcoin with obsolete mining equipment is not gonna give you anything really. Same with faucet - forget about any faucet profit.
If you really want to mine because you can access to unlimited power source then aim  or either new mining equipment (I know it is not cheap) or switch to altcoin mining.

look into steemit. no doubt it's gonna, er, run out of steam at some point but it sounds like money for not doing very much.
