According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Is there anyway  to stop someone from taking the account back?

Im just afraid cause my buddy bought a world of warcraft account and the
original owner took it back and he lost the account

Can you provide proof if ownership? I've seen my friend buy a steam account only for it to be recovered after a week.
