With the success of bitcoin and ethereum, I am wondering what could be the next most demanding cyptocurrency and blockchain feature? I will compile and summarize the answers here as well.

ASIC resistant, pool resistant truly decentralized mining.

Why this is important? Does proof of stake solve the problem? Are you thinking proof of work is inferior than proof of stake? Advantage and disadvantage of different Proof of X?

Aside from Ethereum it would be Onecoin. It is in the top five already and as of now onecoin have their own atm cards and credit cards which can be used to purchase things on establishments. Though their operation is not in the big scale yet, Onecoin displays a big promise of success. Unlike bitcoin, onecoin is at advantage except for the current price.

Well the price is a consequence of the trust people have in bitcoin, so the price might be a good indicator of the reliability of one coin (even if it is not the only factor that should be taken into account).

Factom is to data what Ethereum is to smart contracts. Proof of existence, and proof of integrity, store information etc. Factom will anchor into Ethereum soon too. These are one of few things I'm sure you can actually do with a blockchain. See so much talk about stuff that is reinventing the wheel for the worse. And I like that they anchor into Bitcoin, and solve bitcoin bloat problem. That's my 2 cents. www.factom.comhttps://twitter.com/factomprojecthttp://gavinandresen.ninja/it-must-be-done-but-is-not-a-panacea

True anonymity is going to be a challenge, while also keeping the network efficient and not bloating.

I guess true anonymous system will be banned by governments. So it is a very small dark niche.

Lightning network, faster blocks, larger block size, built in escrow (no idea how this would work btw). There are just minor things. Maybe make it very user-friendly. Aka: make a username connected with a public key, from there you can send to someone else's username and they choose which address it's deposited into.

Variable block size! How about 1 MB block + 35%-50% of the mempool? This will provide more space for transactions, and if the mempool is large, a block could allow more transactions! But this retains the problem of the miner's greed, they wouldn't want this update afaik.

But then i understand why they didn't try going here. they'd be bombard with all the questions about them being real. my bet would be WAVES.

Thenext most demanding cryptocurrency and blockchain feature is fungibility sufficient to provide privacy.
Blacklisting should be impossible at the protocol level, because all the coins are 100% exactly alike.

Multisig is already in. 1) Lightning technology. 2) NO block size change. 3) Attachment of a message to a payment. Messages can be kept on a side-chain.
