I would most likely keep it because I don't know if someone was just trying to be nice to someone else. I know that's unlikely, but there's no way to know. If it's a large amount, then I may feel too guilty to keep it though.

If that happens then most probably I will keep it but if the sender would ask me to send it back then, I will. Smiley

That's not impossible to happen to anyone, but somehow with a little chance. For me, I'll return it back but I will make sure that I will send it to the right person. I believe on Rachel Grady's quote:  “Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.” When I sent my btc to a wrong address, I would like to get my money back, yes maybe I have a mistake, but that's not an intention to happen.

I honestly would not give it back because its your own mistake and how can you even do this.
You always have to check your adress.

I can't believe the number of dishonest individuals on this forum.

It depends on the situation I got. If I get it without knowing the person is then 50% I would use to fold the Bitcoin duplicate and 50% I would use to help others or I save. For if I do not know the person who sent it then I reserve the right to use it on the condition that he announced to everyone and if there are no claiming that it belongs to me

I think you've got a self-serving bias resulting from a need to maintain and perhaps to enhance your self-esteem.  You attribute your behavior in this situation to others.  You need to think outside your box; good people would give it back.

You're shitting me right?  Would you give me your contact info if I send you some coins? How would the sender go about contacting you once the error was realized?!
You can confirm that the sender is the owner by sending the coins back to the address from which it came.  I can't believe the number of people saying they would keep it and your justifications are so fucking lame.

The right way, but I think it would be very hard to do if the owner does not know the addres you used, as in the bitcoin every addres does not have a clear identity and name (without the name) this might be very difficult to do, unless you make the information on all social media

If i receive that btc to my wallet well i will not give it back because its not a mistake, wallet address is pretty obvious and no other similar on it except the first 3 charater, and I guess its a gift also from the sender and what the hell he sendd to you a btc so most prabably its a gift. And thanks for that if it will happen.

Let's say you wake up some day and you get like 1 BTC. For me this is a lot. What do you do? You return back the BTC to the owner, do you keep it? and why.

I don't know what I would do to be honest. I mean who knows if the guy that just sent you this is a criminal or a good man? Very tough decision. For someone like me that has a small BTC wallet and is trying to make as much BTC as possible before its too late due price going too high, it would be hard to return it, but I would feel bad to keep it too.
it depends on the amount of BTC. because if large i will never return it. 😂 very small but if you go back to the owner

If you ever post your address online, someone can see it and they could (if they want) send you BitCoin.
I'd accept it, chances are... They saw my address and decided to send me bitcoin. So Thank you very much.

The problem is that you don't know whether or not the person made a mistake. Some times people randomly send coins to an address just for the fun. If I happen to receive a decent amount like 1BTC, then I will keep it in my wallet for a month to give the person the time to send me a dust transaction including a comment where he is asking his coins back. I will then return it. If after a month there is still nothing from that person, then I'll keep them for ever.
