Ethereum price is falling because of the potential flaw in the soft fork solution.

In short, attacker could start a free DOS attack.

This might push Ethereum in the state of uselessness for a while.

I assume that this will push BTC price up.

This is bad news for those still holding ethereum.. and i think its still risky right ow to invest in ethereum if they are not solve the issue..
So i think it can be affect the price of bitcoin because they are converting  right now back to bitcoin..

Decided to end it with zer0 profit.

People traded coins on Cryptsy that didn't even have a functioning blockchain any more. ETH would probably need to personally come around and punch your grandma in the quim before people walked away now.

I have already lost my hope for eth and all in bitcoin right now. But investing in other alts like lisk, xem (short term) etc could be better option so that profit form bitcoin rise will be double if those more promising coin remain in same value in terms of bitcoin.

Sure, ETH will still be around, people will trade it, but at much lower rate. What I assumed is that a lot of people will reach for the safety by exchanging ETH for BTC and that will push BTC price upward.

Stop polluting this forum with talk about that shitcoin. Thanks.
This discussion is about BTC, not *#!&coin, both eco-systems co-exist and influence each other.

I'm not a big fan of *#!&coin neither, but if something could affect the price of BTC, I must mention it.

It's completely natural to talk about other currency related to BTC, BTC must be exchanged for something, XAU, USD, EUR, *#!&coin... it can't exist in isolation, then it would not be possible to determine it's value and there would not be a reason for a speculation forum, so please forgive me Cheesy

I didn't notice that the bitcoin price is affected by the movement of the Ethereum price nor with the last hack, i mean eth has lost 30%? meanwhile btc kept its volatility between $620-670

I'd feel bad for anyone who lost out if ETH really did falter properly but it's a salutary lesson in not running before you can walk.

I know Core types get lots of stick for being conservative among many other things but here's the reason why.

This should push Bitcoin up.
However, it may pull it down along with other digital currencies due to potential problems spotted that could be transferred from eth to btc!
People may also have transferred to Eth and then given up on crypto currency altogether due to the problem (though this one should be a minority)!

punch your grandma in the quim

Just quoting because more people need to start using the word "quim". Especially in relation to assaulting family members... As you were. Tongue

Quim punching is something of a family tradition. It's the only way we have of expressing affection even when some of us aren't quim owners.

ETH is entering a bear market.  I can't see anybody actually trusting it enough to actually use it for a smart contract.  Trading will be the only purpose for a while and it will get shorted into the ground.

QUIM.  What is that exactly?  Never heard that word before.

So ETH is a garbage coin now or what?  After the DAO news it tanked but then rebounded and now is down again.  And the other related coins, waves and lisk, have also been flushed down the toilet.  Not sure if all this is due to bitcoin rocketing to the moon or not.  But I would not touch ETH with a ten foot quim.

A quim is the sinful part of a lady's toilet area. Luckily I shy away from such things these days. Anyway let's not distract those who wish to gloat over ETH.

Recruitment numbers are down all over town this quarter.

Is that topical?

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.
