Hey guys,

I was wondering if you keep all your bitcoins in one wallet, or do you use multiple providers/accounts?

I am currently using 3 different wallets, it kinda feels safer not to store everything in once place...

Thoughts?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I use MultiBit HD and that seems to use a lot of different wallets for incoming and outcoming transactions. So, a collection of wallets.

I think that is a pretty cool feature.

oh cool! So can you have a breadwallet and a ledger wallet within a MultiBit? Or just different MultiBit Wallets?

I mostly use blockchain.info for every day use but recently started using electrum to store large sum of finds as i find it more safer because it is software based rather than web or database based. I also have 50% of my total bitcoin in different exchangers. Spreading all bitcoin is safer option against possible scam or shutdown.

I think it's just a collection of wallets. It's uses a deterministic wallet. I have no idea what it means though... Tongue

Not really. My mycelium wallet is tied to my ledger wallet, do it's basically a watch-only until I plug my ledger in. The only wallets I use are the stock ledger wallets and The mycelium wallet, as above stated.

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

Its definitely a benefit the accounts to be free and also for big Bitcoin owners probably better to save them on different Bitcoin wallets.

I think its important to use more than one wallet, in my case i use one cold wallet (a paper wallet) for long time storage. A Multibit as normal wallet, and a mobile wallet for small amounts.

I using and different 4 wallets and why am i using some wallet at the same time? because to split all of my bitcoin, and decrease all of the risks will I get from this? it's my responsibility to protect my BTC from the thief or scammers. you can try my way. Cheesy

I use only electrum and it has about 50 wallet addresses, so far its a pretty safe wallet, been using it for over 2 years on Linux not a single problem so far. Unless you want to have a lot of anonymity (if you know what you are doing) you can have as much wallets as you can as they cannot be linked to a single person that easily if you use different wallets.
For me I feel pretty safe with Electrum. Time has told me so Smiley

I'm only using blockchain until now but have some address in my wallet. maybe I was not too protect my wallet, with using 2FA I think it was more than enough. because in my opinion blockchain is the best wallet for me because for me it's always updating with their system in I'm very comfortable with this.

Are you talking about online wallets?I use coinbase only to send and receive bitcoins i have a blockchain account too but i prefer coinbase.
For storage i have a hard wallet (ledger) i don't trust enough the online wallets to keep my bitcoins.

While I wouldn't store all my eggs in one basket, I also wouldn't be saying how much less where they are stored - you'll forget you posted in this thread, but a hacker will come along and use that information (should you have enough BitCoins that they feel like taking) and you won't even know how they did it.

I used to have 5 wallets, but I'm down to only 2. I also used to have 5 bank accounts, but I'm down to only 3. Frankly, you don't need more.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Lol yeah I also think using one wallet is enough. if you want to secure you just add some authentication. and using one wallet simpler and easier
