People that are speculating on 4 figures in 10 years per Bitcoin are not really getting the big picture. You cannot fathom increments in price that may be unrealistic for the people that can't really put things into perspective because you are short sighted.

that would be a really great thing if the price would rise to more than 4 figures per coin, i guess i will have to hold for a really long time too in order to make some good profit over time

i think that it is really possible to reach such heights in bitcoin price if people will not lose interest in bitcoins, i hope that bitcoin will keep on getting better and better currency

We are starting to go up already as we speak. The last rise was interrupted artificially by a the australian sellout news, then the whales used this to push for a forced downtrend in order to buy cheap from idiots panic selling. Now the bull pressure is ready to go up and should go back to 700+ unless artificially pushed down again.

What matters now is how much the vale changes in between each halving. But I would say starting at $620 and then calculating it out for the next few halvings would be a pretty good idea.

A doubling of the price around each halving would mean a linear growth.
But we all know that Bitcoin with influx of user adoption in the millions and business acceptance by major companies will be on an exponantial growth pattern.
So your idea of 2x in price every 4 years is imo very conservative.
And even if this should be true the price would be somewhere around $5000!!Not that bad right?!
Requirement for all that to happen is Bitcoin still being numero uno during that time.

Interesting read but this depends completely on  adoption rising as well which may be difficult,  new coins are competing everyday to knock bitcoin off the top and i would be willing to bet that by the time 4 years never mind 10 that bitcoin will have been replaced by a far superior currency.  If not then i will eat my new Ferrari that i will buy.

I think by 2020 having speculation will be really high than current one. And also by that time it is quite ovious that we may see even 5x of current price. I am not seeing any crash near except satoshi came out and sold his assets.

The core words here are 'blockchain technology' not bitcoin. That prediction from Wall Street Journal is not saying anything about bitcoin.
It might be private blockchains of banks or maybe we will see national blockchains powered digital version of present national currencies.
Or maybe these experts simply combined the market cap of every existing and future coins?

i also want to believe that bitcoin can go mainstream in 10 years, and become global currency, blah blah. but i don't think it is going to happen on such a big scale to shoot the price to anything above 4 figures like the famous $10,000 that has been said a long time ago back in the $1200 time.

10 to 12 years from now, the transaction fees will be more than the block reward. The price will be very high.
