What I am doing with my Bitcoin and where I am keeping it is my own business. Isn't this the whole purpose of Bitcoin in the first place? For people to be free of government watchdogs looking over your every step and spying on you every single day? But I guess Bitcoin getting legalized will mean getting it centralized as well and then unfortunately the government will have the legal right to audit your private Bitcoin wallets for tax purposes. But until then we can still enjoy our privacy or whatever is left of it...
Bitcoins are supposed to be private and can never be centralized by a particular government. I wouldn't allow the governments to look into my bitcoin wallets. Even though if bitcoins are legalized government won't be able to access everyone's bitcoin wallet. People can maintain their privacy.

Governments will always want to know how much you are earning so that they milk you like crazy through their taxes. The only good thing is that most governments currently do not recognize bitcoin as a form of currency. But with the rate at which bitcoin is gaining popularity, I know for sure they will recognize it and will start following individuals wanting to know how much they are making so that they tax them

I don't think I'd like to allow the government to look into my wallets at all because I think that's just an invasion of privacy. You can actually partially know a person's wealth if they look at our bitcoin wallets. I wouldn't mind if they looked at my bitcoin wallet just as long as they don't know that I own it.
I think people are shifting to bitcoins because they want freedom from governments to stop peeping in their savings and avoid unnecessary taxes etc. So we do not want the government to take control of this bitcoins.

In the coming days when the government will legalize bitcoin and puts up regulatory rules and policies on the use of bitcoins it is a prerogative of the government to monitor the bitcoin transactions as well as your bitcoin wallet. For how many years bitcoin has been operating outside the hands of the government and many illegal operations especially in the black market is taking place without being traced. This coming events may be helpful to the stability of bitcoins in its operation and security.
Hell no. If they force me to give them access, Ill give them a fake one with a little bit of BTC inside and use a hidden real one. I'm not against taxes because that's how our highways are built and schools are funded, but the government having control over our wallets is not about taxes. It's about freedom.

I guess, this can't be done, as it will not truly serve the true purpose of bitcoin, I guess this crypto currency is designed as it is as anonymous and nothing could ever controlled it, and if the government will intervene then bitcoin will now become a puppetry banks same as others and would start people hating it.

well i guess you have no chance of choosing to allow governments check your bank fiat wallets as in my opinion they can do it easily all the time and that is a really bad thing in my opinion i would definitely not allow my country government to check through my wallet in my opinion because in my opinion then they would have more info about me and i like anonymity

True, it is basically the Government will follow the development of most people there be. because the Government depends on taxes charged by any person residing in the neighborhood. And this would be a great advantage for us

I think the question of "allowing" the government to look into your bitcoin wallets is moot. If they wanted to, I'm sure they can get access to all of anyone's bitcoin wallets and bitcoin dealings and transactions. And to cover their asses, all they would have to do is play the Homeland Security card to rationalize/justify their snooping in on anyone's private business.
Here we go again... let's assume everyone is American. If you don't pay taxes then no matter what country you live in you'll have to give up any private keys. To people saying they 'wouldn't allow' them to look into your bitcoins... you're a f***ing idiot haha. It's not your choice. If you don't like it then live somewhere where you don't pay taxes for your dirt roads and mud huts.

If bitcoin will become a decentralized one in your country or even it don't but your local bitcoin exchanges are complying in your country's law, you have no choice but to give your personal information to that exchange as part of their security protocol if you used their services. It is necessary but it doesn't mean you are allowing the government to check your wallet. That is against the law even on fiat terms. It will just be allowed if there's something unusual happen that involves your account.

If the government really, really wanted to they could, I don't know why they would care but I'm not going to risk a lawsuit or whatever over whatever number of Bitcoin I have in my wallet.
If Bitcoin became a massive strategic investment for countries though, such as becoming a replacement or parallel reserve currency, then I would be tucking away my Bitcoin and not making any big movements or letting anyone see what I have.

Well I don't have much to hide lol so I wouldn't mind but whales with deep wallets who are amassing a truck load of bitcoin I am sure wouldn't be at all amused at the Inland Revenue or Irs having a sneak peak at their bitcoin holdings. The few satoshi I earn from faucets and a few bounties that I do some services are not even above the basic tax threshold, so for me there is no worry whatsoever.

If government want to look my account, I will appreciate it. Because government will never do any scams with us. Government is trusted. Also they can freely look into my account any time they want because it is empty. So I am not going to give any restrictions, its free and you are welcome at any time.

I'm not so sure. That is the exact thing if they would look into my bank account. And if they have no good reason and legal basis and if I haven't done anything wrong then they are not allowed to do that. So, the same thing aplies to my Bitcoin wallet.
