I would like to know if it is possible to stake a PoS coin like Diamond or Hyperstake 24/7 from within the VPS. All I know is how to setup the same on it, but I don't how to make it run 24/7 as the more the wallet is open, the more chances of receiving stakes I will get. Any advice, tips or tricks would be helpful to me. I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

What vps do you use?
Should work by just closing your connection to the vps without shutting down the vps...

I think that is not pow mining , it is pos mining. so it just open wallet to mine

to OP
VPS already work 24/7, so you can just instal the wallet and import your backup from your dekstop wallet to vps

I am not quite known with staking POS coin but every VPS which have more than 1gb ram can run 24x7 if you only keep it open with one app of your wallet open. Buy linux vps rather than windows as linux use very less ram than windows.

Answer : Yes

Price for a Windows VPS range from $15 and up per month.
Price for a Linux VPS start ~$7 and up.

Problem is this , unless you just want to act as a node supporting their networks, you are wasting your money.

With Diamond coin , place all of your coins in 1 or 2 blocks so you only need to be online for 2 or 3 hours to stake every 15 days or so.
With Hyperstake, you have a max cap so you have to space it out, but you can just leave your PC up 1 night a week to stake.

You need to calculate your Profit potential, odds are a VPS will cost you more money than what the extra time online earns you.
You would make their networks more stable, but is that something you want to go in a deficient for.

 Cool

FYI:
The one instance where it could save you money is if your internet usage is billed per gigabyte and you are going over your usage limits every month.
If that is the case the VPS could be cheaper that getting billed for exceeding your usage limits.

If 15gb bandwidth per month is enough then you can get vps for absolutely free at https://aws.amazon.com/free/
And even after that 15gb you will pay per gb only for what you use.

I think VPS companies are not allowed mining they are banning those members if they know that you are mining using their service..

Abiky is not asking "how to mine with a VPS", is asking if he can use his own VPS to stake his coins 24/7, without leaving his own PC powered on days and nights.
Of course is possible, and also pretty simple. You need only to install some dev libraries and your coin wallet, generate a new receiving address and send your coins to the VPS wallet. And monitor the "staking process" simply using a block explorer.

You can withdraw at any time just launching this command using SSH Terminal (if you are using Linux):
Code:
sendtoaddress <address> <amount>

Of course you can also upload your wallet.dat, in order to control the "staking wallet" also on your PC, without dealing with terminal commands.

Like kiklo says, you need a lot of coins in staking, just to cover the VPS costs. Then, if you haven't our suggestion is to leave your wallet open simply when you are using your PC Smiley

If you need a cheap and fast VPS plan, take a look at our new page, rebranded yesterday  Smiley
https://cryptogods.net/hosting.php

ps: @crairezx20, you're correct, most hosting providers doesn't allow crypto mining, our plans too can't be used for mining itself, but we allow creating mining pools if needed.

Best regards,
CryptoGods Tech Team

Just download the wallet for linux and start it up trough SSH and detach the proces from the SSH connection and it will work like a charm.

better to look for yearly payment of vps so that you can make a profit.. many vps are giving discounted coupon..
Now if you are starting staking in vps better to set all your daily and make sure that you are holding more altcoin in your wallet to stake more daily..

Sure. I already know how to setup the VPS. The VPS host I use is called DigitalOcean VPS. I only wanted to know if VPS services allow you to run them 24/7. If so, I would leave the wallet staking 24/7 on it. It would be really great and serve as my own cloud staking service rather than depending on a third party like Stakeminers.com  Smiley

The what?

If you know how to setup a VPS, you should be smart enough to figure out how to install a wallet on one...

Sounds like you need a step by step guide from the very beginning? Do you even have an account with a VPS host?

Yes no problem to run them 24/7 that is why vps are there  Wink
Have been running blackbird arbitrage on diffe[Suspicious link removed]' without any problem with the hosting company's.

you should consider:

- a linux VPS costs 5 dollars / month, staking you will earn some cents only and you provide a node to the coin
- staking is intensive process, you need VPS with some more ram
- VPS is by definition a virtual server operative 24/7, the problem is that if you are staking more coins and use all the memory you might get limited use or blocked

Thanks for the tips. I was wondering if 1 GB of RAM for the VPS to stake at least 1 coin would be sufficient, because I would prefer to stay within the most cheapest plan available until then I could upgrade to a better plan. If so, then I think that the $5 a month VPS would be sufficient for me. This would make it pretty convenient to stake coins from within the "cloud" (sort of) without depending on a third party cloud staking service like Stakeminers.  Cheesy

In windows , Use Task manger and check the Coin Process to see how much memory it uses,
Linux should have something similar.
If the coin Process is using ~500Meg, then you be able to run it along with the Linux OS with 1GB total.
Personally Would get 2Gig or more if you want to run multiple wallets at the same time.
Just add up the memory their process is using and how many you want to run simultaneously, include ~500meg for the OS.

 Cool

FYI:
Coins like ZEIT , Mint , & HBN use over 1 gig by themselves with nothing else running.

Thanks mate. I usually do this on Windows, but I am quite not very familiar with Linux as I cannot find a Task Manager for it. Still, I could be based on the results I get on the Windows OS to run the wallet in Linux. In the meantime, I will only run a single wallet for testing but then I will decide to upgrade my VPS plan to get more RAM and stake at least 2 coins at the same time. I think that staking OKcoins or Coin Magi will be perfectly fine to start with.  Smiley

This may interest you i have used these guys for plenty of projects.  Rock solid stability.  Budget brand of OVH who are one of the biggest server farm owners around

https://www.kimsufi.com/us/en/

VPS SSD 1

OpenStack KVM
1 vCore
2.4 GHz
2 GB RAM
10 GB SSD
Local Raid 10

$3.49/month

If you looking to stake a few coins maybe look at one of their Dedicated servers.  They start at $6 a month.  But you have to check their site regularly as those are often out of stock.

Want to stake many many coins at once try something like this

KS-2B    Atom™ N2800    640    2c / 4t    1.86 GHz+    4 GB    40 GB SSD    100 Mbps    /128    $11.00

Also available for the same price with a 1TB drive instead of the SSD

Heck you can even run them with a GUI option if your not comfortable with CLI.  They have enough power

If your looking at a Linux task manager try "top"

If your using something Debian based try "sudo apt-get htop" and use htop instead for a better looking interface
