There is no need to carry paper wallet with you if you have Bitcoin debit card. It is muchw easier and more practical and convenient. And you can educate people about Bitcoin also, they could be even more interested if they see that they could also use the card.

Gave 0.1 each to my friends after the crash. Celebrating cheap bitcoin. Gave away almost one bitcoin. Only ~200 aud at the time, now almost $1k AUD. So pissed.

Don't be pissed. You helped in advancing bitcoin by getting more bitcoin users. They became bitcoin users after that, right? 10mBTC is quite an amount considering today's price. But I am sure it was nothing back then. At least what you gave away went into something worthwhile. Not like mine. When the price was still low, some of my bitcoins was just wasted away by gambling.
Yeah I agree, it's silly to be pissed about that since you can't know what the future brings.
I've also given away a couple of BTC in the early days and I don't care, they weren't worth that much back then Smiley

Maybe it's a better idea to give people altcoins instead. If the price rises they would be very thankful if they are worth alot. Its alot easier to send small amounts of altcoins too because the fees are reduced, with bitcoin 200,000 satoshi will need a 5% fee.

Yeah maybe that's very well done, but it might not be successful if we have the intention to let them use the bitcoin or doing activities with bitcoin. For all that is yet to know something for sure, probably will find the most important thing in it

I like the idea but for most of us, we probably can't afford to give away even small amounts of bitcoin. I think asking merchant if they accept bitcoin is a great way to let them know that there is a demand for it.

Do you want to promote Bitcoin or some pump n dump Alt coin that might fail in a month? We have Bitcoin with a track record of a couple of years... why do we need to go with a risky alternative that might

fail and leave a bad taste for Crypto currencies in those people's mouths. If you want to do this, stay with Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes You can get your foot in the door with Bitcoin and then gradually work towards the

introduction of other Alt coins.  Wink

Well done to you, that's a pretty cool idea and everybody likes something physical as oppose to showing somebody something virtually which always ends being more complicated than it actually is.

That's not what bitcoin is about. If you are using a debit card it's probably mastercard or visa,  so they don't learn anything if you pay with those. You also enrich those payment processors with a fee.

Exactly! Using a debit card won't teach anyone anything. Maybe if you said 'I'm using bitcoins right now!' you could tell them a bit more about it but let's be honest, who does that when using a bitcoin debit card? There's no need to at that point. You already know they'll accept it so the question 'do you take bitcoins?' is irrelevant.
