Is it possible for mods to state reasons for deleting posts?

The past week ive had 2 posts deleted that appeared to me to be on topic and not spam.  Would it be possible for mods to list a reason on post deletion in the future so at least i can find out what i said wrong and not do it again?

Atm all you get is a message that says your post has been deleted but without giving reasons.

You could always quote them for us and let everyone take a look.
Maybe we can find out what's the matter without mods having to add it to each and every deletion they make.

There isn't any reason other than off topic replies or spam deleted by mods.

Actually, there's more. Basically everything that could in any way violate one of the forum rules.
Unless you want to break all these rules down to either a) spam or b) off-topic replies.
Then there's repiles to posts that get deleted,...

So there is really no point in stating the same reasons over and over again "spam" "off-topic" etc. etc.

The last one i had deleted today or yesterday was this one.

I've not got much of an idea for an incentive to run a node but i agree we could do with them if we want to up the node count.  At the moment i run a node but only because i use it as a wallet so it's actually not even running all the time.

It was posted in technical discussion in the thread about giving an incentive to run a node, My comment basically  explains that i have a node but dont run it 24/7 due to lack of incentive, so im agreeing that something should be done to offer an incentive to running nodes. I dont know if this post comes under spam or what since i dont offer any recommendations on what to do but me posting surely raises a larger awareness that i believe its also a problem.

Please no. There's a reason for which deleted posts get reported 'anonymously' via PM's. This would add a tremendous amount of additional work for us.

Spam isn't the only reason for which your post could be deleted. There are other reason, for example: quoting a deleted post, replying to a necro'd thread, etc.

I thought maybe mods could easily add something like "spam post" or "that doesnt make sense, your an idiot" I appreciate the mods have a lot of work to do and this probably would add more to the work load. I just thought it would be easier to adjust what im doing or saying wrong if i was more aware of the problem, But like you say, its only 2 posts.

I guess it is something that one should just 'accept'. There were also cases in which my own posts (I'm not the only member to which this happened) that were older than 1 year getting deleted for some unknown reason. The reason in this case would be an old report; it just happens sometimes. While it does sound good knowing the particular reason for deletion (which helps one improve and build upon mistakes), it becomes a tremendous amount of work if we are 'obliged' to state a reason for each deletion. If you're lucky, the moderator that has deleted your post might see this thread and reply. It can only be either one of the global moderators or gmaxwell (local section moderator).

I submitted a fairly diligent report about a member prolifically posting off topic, trolling, death wishing posts.

OP, just suck it up and accept it.  I've had posts deleted before and it'll happen again.   It's going to happen and you aren't going to get an explanation.   Making a thread is wasted time and energy for an issue that's of little consequence to your life.
