GPU mining rig with minmal amount of heat and wattage

hey guys,

with spring and summer right around the corner in the US. I am looking to find some video cards with lower wattage usage and hopefully lower exhaust temps. Besides FPGAs is there a good low power high yield video card miners like to go with? I see the 7770 and 7750 is around 80w and can mine in the mid 200s.

Any other suggestions?

With ASICs starting to be shipped out in larger quantities very soon, you'll not want to be looking at GPUs anymore...

People are still buying gpu's, this idea that gpu's are a for sure loss is a lie. Anyways if you want something the most efficient you should go with 7970's and undervolt them. Reference style coolers will be loud though so you will have to get a dual fan model. Set to around 900mhz and around 1.05v should get you about 550 mhash for around 100 watts each card.

Overclock 2x1100MHz = 630Mh/s @ 200watts

use 7950. Find one where u can lower voltage, run it at 1020/625/0.962V - it will pull 160W @ 510MHs. And low heat

I know ASICs will be out in full swing soon but people can still mine LTC with their old GPU mining rigs.

Having 2 rigs with low end cards is most likely less power efficient than having one rig filled with high end cards. Plus there is the cost of getting 2 systems instead of one. Atleast I didn't find it being a good investment to get many slower systems than fewer high performing ones when I was planning my rigs.

glade to here this config only draw 160w, coz I am having the similar configuration 1000/625/1.068 and I have no idea how much power it consumes, I am going to try to lower the voltage further.
