US government holds medical blockchain research competition
The US Department of Health and Human Services has announced a blockchain challenge for projects related to possible applications of the technology in healthcare.

The blockchain would be great for healthcare and research.  Also good in the article is that instead of a monetary prize they will be rewarded with funding for further research.  Will be interesting to see who competes.
