I was thinking along the same lines for privatekeys

you transfer a whole address in the same fashion. privkey and then password on top of that - if password doesnt work thats akin to a transfer declined Tongue

There is a proposal for encrypted printed Bitcoins that is BIP38 of casascius.
You can follow the development on an implementation in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=43496.380

bitsofproof also supports this format and so will its clients.
