The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Block 420001 also has a 16.66 reward.. Anybody know if this is working as intended? As far as i can see it is. Just look at newly generated coins https://blockchain.info/tx/5787c3d0740f13f280118404405f1c93fb7a63a953fa482b13e23c3b03a14bd4There's some trash showing on blockchain.info, just like Transaction Fees -3.59096985 BTC . Note the negative value. OBV explorer error, not bitcoin's

Some block explorer says the reward is 12.5BTC while other says it's 16.66666666BTC I hope the right one is 12.5BTC, otherwise we would have bad time.
12.5 BTC is right, BlockChain.info is one messed up block explorer.

That's odd. The current block reward should be: 12.5BTC Shown on there was: 16.66BTC and Then showed on a transaction was: ~13BTC
There is definitely something that has gone wrong with blockchain.info!

blockchain.info is notoriously unreliable. If a miner had attempted to claim a subsidy higher than 12.5 BTC, then every full node would've rejected the block.

I guess its a bug in Blockchain.info
Negative transaction fees: Transaction Fees -3.59096985 BTC
That was the first thing I noticed too. Disappointing, that means they have some fundamental flaw in their software, otherwise it shouldn't matter that blocks halve. The amount sent to the output address is (of course) correct, so all works fine. I'm more interested in what's going to happen to the Bitcoin price in the coming months. People have been speculating the halving for months now, in both directions, so I'm just curious what the market is going to do. just blockchain.info messing up again. Guess they can't do 25/2 ;-)
But they can do 50/3 So next halving they'll show 12.5 BTC per block. Blockchain.info fixed their bugs Transaction Fees and Block Reward are correct now. They are fast!

The bitcoin value SHOULD increase! (though it has defied our expectations many times before)! Blockchain.info are probably reviewing many forum sites and social media all the time to ensure the information they publish is accurate!

So the transactions shown on Blockchain are fake? Is it actually 12.5 instead of the figure it's showing? I'm really confused and i need someone to confirm this for me. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the value of Bitcoin will proceed after this; it seems to be remaining stable at the moment; though i hope it can increase at little bit more

There's been a bug fix already. It's showing real values now. It's funny how people want to spread panic on tiniest issues/bugs See you in 4 years on the next countdown (Reward-Drop ETA date: 07 Jul 2020 01:04:05)
