A little post from Crypto-News about the halving. Note that the post is bilingual, and that English is at the bottom of the article. The article is oriented about the price changes of that the halvings brang.

Today is a great day for the whole Bitcoin cmmunity. After near 4 years of wait since the last halving, that occured on Novermber 12th of 2012, at block 210 000, we're finally to the next one, in that glorious day of July 9th of 2016. The comparison between the two communities, the one of 2012 and the one of 2016, is ridiculous. Everything took a so much bigger proportion ! Thus, by the huge nulber of Bitcoin users nowadays, the hopes in term of price increase were high. The most wonderful in the story us that these hopes, at least the most realistic (including mines, that predicted a spike at 700$ then a stagnation between 600$ and 700$), realised themselves ! In fact, May 26th saw a closing price of 453,28$, but two days later, on May 28th, the closing price was 525,43$. The halving rush had started. At the moment when I'm writting those lines, the price is 658,25$, which is already very high in comparison to the month of May, with no less than 200$ of value gain in two months. The stratospherical spike was reached on June 16th, with a closing price of 768,24$ ! Even if we got down since then, it is good to take into account that still many things can happen, and in that case it will be covered here, and that at the previous halving, the price was only 12,35$ , and that at the beggining of the 2012 year, the price was only around 5$ !!! Yes, a lot of progress has been made, but there's still much more left. Decidedly, the four coming years will be very interesting. I can't wait for the next one !
