I wanted to log in as everyday to my Yobit account to get the daily reward of my promotion for them via my posts. Usually I can log in from any IP with 2FA google authenticator. This time although I was accessing Yobit from my home PC it asked for a code in which was sent to my email. It was a long string of capital letters. Now I have my email with 2FA also cannot be accessed without mobile phone sms code from other computers.
Should I be worried or is just another try from some persistent hacker which cannot beat the 2FA so far ?

Its good that you have 2FA enabled and I am glad nothing happened to you so far. I would recommend at least for you to change the password just in case. Having 2FA is very good to added security. Maybe is even because Yobit itself has increased its security measures and now sends also an authentication code via email for new IP logins, just like blockchain.info does.

About the authentication code , it is natural case because yobit added this feature to increase the security , when you want to log in your account from new IP you should insert this code , if you are worry because this feature , it is from yobit not because the hackers are trying to steal your account .

I agree with you having 2fa is the safest way for us to get out to troubles because it can make us more secure from those attacker and if OP have this security well dont be worried all of them will be failed for their bad plan doing to your account, so thats why its better to make our accounts make it secured so we cannot make our money stolen. |

As long as you have the 2FA I would not worry about the hacker(s) attempts. People can try resetting your password but I think it will not affect your current password(depends from the platforms). Suggestion: try to use another email address only for exchanges. |

No , you shold not be worried , because it is new security update which yobit added it after a lot of user accounts have been stolen , yobit is one of the most used exchanges because it contains more than 300 altcoins , so it is a good target for the hackers , but if you used unique password and e-mail and 2FA , your account will be safe.

Most account steals are caused by phishing.
Be careful what you click (especially emails tailored to you) and you should be more than fine with what you have now.

You should not worry about this to be honest because with the 2FA security almost nothing can happen in my eyes because its pretty secure.
So long you are using this there is nothing to worry about and you should just ignore it.

if their security is good enough you should not worry about anything but the problem is that you can't be sure how good yobit's security is. and they won't care if you lose your bitcoin to a hacker so withdraw always and only keep small amounts there,

Good point, If you are sure that your password and second factor authentication is strong enough that a hacker cannot enter. And besides, maybe that hacker was just a newbie because you already sensed him before he enters your account. So nothing to worry about that. And another thing, the fact that you already know that your account was compromised. Then you should not leave any coins there and create another account which you can store your hard earned coins so that, when the hacker finally got your account, his effort will turn into trash  |

You should not worry bro since yobit have 2fa and surely it well secure your funds from the attackers, and dont worry if someone will attempt again surely they will fail yobit is so strict when someone logins your account from different ip and lastly its better to create another account because if you still gamble and use that account continously their are possibilities that they can bypass the 2fa and successfull to hack your account. |

Thanks a lot. Thats very good to know that this is not some hacker doing, but Yobit which increased security of their website, that's just great. I have all of my accounts online protected with 2FA even gambling sites which I use, I have set up 2FA on every website in Linux so I know that no hacker can have my one pass code in order to dis-activate my 2FA-s. Since 2014 when my blockchain.info wallet was hacked, I have not suffered anything since then as I use only 2FA websites. Thank you all. Topic locked. |
