Agreed. If it achieved nothing else at least it cleared the wall at $48 so we might see some more price movement now

Yes, up to the next wall at 49, but now people will see the movement in the next few hours as they check the Internet, and it may move a little more in the short term.

I think this is likely.  All those people waiting to see if the fork caused a dump will find their hopes left unfulfilled and begin to panic buy.
