Hi guys,

I remember that around 2009 I bought about 80-100 bitcoin for a small amount of USD. Except that I forgot the website that I used to send the money and convert my USD into bitcoin. I don't have a wallet file or any keys etc.

Is there a way to use my social or name or address to locate my wallet and website that I bought these bitcoin on?

I just used a bitcoin exchange I think but I dont remember what the website was. Can anyone help me locate this account

I don't know if you can locate which or here the address belong.
Is it not local bitcoin? virwox? c-cex?
Can you post the address here. Maybe I can help you search for it.

You give almost no clue on what that website was, I think in 2009 there was no bitcoin sold, I think the selling started in 2010 or 2011 at no real dedicated website, I think it was here on btctalk that the first exchanges began.
In all cases you need to prvide a lot more info on that purchase.

If it was tradehill or mtgox then expect nothing.
I believe the year would be around 2011

I guess bitcoin doesn't have a price until 2010 or 2011. I guess 90% chance you were using the "legendary" Mt. Gox. Since 80-100 BTC at that time was just worth a small amount of USD, I suggest you just forget about it since you didn't lose much...

For your information Mt Gox has closed down sometime in 2014. It is now part of the glory history of bitcoin...

2009? That was even before Mt Gox (2010) and Bitinstant (2011). Are you sure you've used "exchange site" not direct purchase from another person?

Brief google search says that there were no exchange sites until 2010.

I was just about to say the same thing.

The only way you could have bought bitcoins back then was directly from a miner or mine them yourself.  If it was actually after 2009 and from an exchange then the best bet you have is checking all your old emails for any clues.  More than likely your onto plumbs though.
