What if there was an app type of game where instead of just getting points for going places and killing monsters, you go to places to kill monsters and get bitcoins?

But the "monsters" and locations would be different based upon your demographic/interests. And people could incentivize a certain type of person to go to certain locations.

The app could also access your personal information such as age, gender, hobbies, finances, etc.

Imagine you're a Jeep dealership and you're having a huge Jeep sale. You drop some bitcoins right smack dab in middle of your dealership and let the app summon 20-40 year olds that are into outdoors/Jeeps.

Or a nightclub instead of ladies night putting some bitcoins inside the club to attract 21-25 y/o females. Even some rich guy could drop some near him to get the ladies to come over.

A strip club that puts some bitcoins attracting males with good finances to come in.

There could be some sort of beacon that draws people toward the place which might be brighter for more bitcoins, beep faster as you get closer. Maybe have it take a little while to "mine" the bitcoins in the location so you're apt to stick around a bit (and do some shopping/browsing).

It'd be a cool idea but I guess the money ruins the fun and it'll be filled with loser desperate for a few cents. I think it would be best to just leave the game and not make any shitty knock offs.

The idea itself is great, don't get me wrong. But if it's for money, at a point it'll stop being a game and more of an activity just for money.

Well, there were other GPS games before Pokemon Go. I played Ingress for a while.

I agree about the money aspect. It would be as annoying as the signature posters of bitcointalk but in RL. But at least people will be able to get RL people to show up places.

well i think you should try with a beta version and see the response i am sure there will be money hungry gamer if you give those payouts on game but you can control them by giving vouchers instead of btc in your game which can only be redeemed in your site. just a part of concept from dragon tail just to get a little security.

This "pokemon go" thing is a goddamn madness. I can't stop playing it. I even play while i drive. I collect pokeballs and even catch pokemons while i drive my car. Complete madness.

Sad thing is, you can't oversuccess (can't even come close) pokemon by replicating another shitty app which use bitcoins. You may only have a chance if you somehow offer "sex" to your users. pokemon is downloaded more than tinder did in 5 years btw.

Pokemon is magic.

I think this isn't a bad idea.  People love free money.  In order for it to become actually viable with the types of people you're talking about (clubs, dealerships, people selling things) then bitcoin would have to become a large bit more popular and accessible.  As easy and fun as bitcoin actually is, a lot of people still just consider it "for hackers".  Nevertheless, I think your idea isn't too bad.

Considering that Google invested 25 million dollars into Pokemon GO and the creator also helped create Google maps, you're gonna have to spend a lot of money getting a team that could create that game.

You do it in the car? We are all doomed, Pokemon Go zombies are everywhere.

In regards to crypto it would be amazing if I crypto could integrate with something like this and it would be even better if it would be Bitcoin.

I love Bitcoin

Maybe I didn't read the OP carefully, but how does this game plan to earn profit for its creators?

A few options:
Business/person drops 1 bitcoin, game company puts .95 bitcoins out for people to grab (keeps 5%).
In order to get the bitcoins you have to wait while a video plays (advertisement).
Charge for the app.
Usual pop-up ads.

Rewarding real money for games will end as same as most game economies end; with very low prices and rewards that could not be profitable for most people.

Example: Blizzard games like World of warcraft, Diablo 3, Second life.

If you look at it the other way, then I would say that a game like this could probably get more people into Bitcoin. If you manage to make the game itself fun, it's not like it's extremely hard to get into Bitcoin.

I love this one! because all the gold digger chicks will be in the same place the same time ,showing of to each other who is the hottest and all this for the eye of the guy who will drop some btc around!!  Grin

Now i dont know about the strip club if he will attract rich males, because they will be after the btc profit and not the stripper  Grin
but any how its a very nice idea that need work and i can see it coming an alt coin with such use..mark my words   Cool

--snipe--
The thing about Role Playing Games is ,the only way to make money is through the game stores or inbuilt shops to buy upgrades. To keep the game more fair, one shouldn't be allowed to buy everything in a day.Like,if a guy makes a new account he can buy as much as updates with bitcoins and level up more than the guy who has been playing the game since 1 month.People lose interest. Now apply the same concept in your proposal, people will a lot of bitcoins would definitely enjoy it while others would still be struggling to find something cheap.

I had the same idea.   I decided I would rather make a simple text based android game that pays like RPG style... Find treasure, sell to merchant, create an economy...

I already have a bitcoin app that is paying people to watch video game streams from Twitch.tv (search Google Play for Twitch Potato or visit http://twitchpotato.com)  it is passive income, no clicking required, no captcha.  It is a 100% revenue split based on your contribution %

I have some Bitcoin investments that are paying into the fund and if you would want to create an app, get ahold of me via the contact info on TwitchPotato or here.

Now that I think about it, the fact that it would be just like attracting signature campaigners on here is actually attractive from a business standpoint. They are like zombies on here, posting senselessly coming from everywhere for their tiny bits of satoshis. No reason the same can't be done in the real world with real world zombies.

The difference being on here search engines see the links getting posted over and over again and up the sites search results. Having a bunch of mindless people looking for a few cents at your business isn't a great idea, they are only there to get those few cents you are offering, why would they want to spend more at your place of business?

Someone has already found code in pokemon go that shows McDonalds and its thought that Niantic will change pokestops to advertisers places of business to get more people to congregate around them, and those people would be coming to just play a game, not as beggars.

@Elwar, Pokemon go and Ingress were made by the same company, most of the gyms and pokestops are portals from Ingress.

Pokemon go itself is a revolutionary idea itself really, if a dev can add some features taht we could earn bitcoin i will definitely play it all day. Maybe even forget bitcointalk.org for it if we really need to get out on the streets to catch pokemons Smiley

I think I'll take a crack at this.

In the most simple terms I will focus on:
Facebook login (which comes with user information such as age, gender, # of friends, etc.)
GPS location of the user.
GPS location of the contributor along with guidelines such as demographics of users desired, amount of bitcoins available, max amount per user, time window and radius. This part will sit on the server.
Collection system for contributors to the server.
Distribution system from the server to the users.

Initially the screen will simply be a beacon type of GUI showing distance/direction to the nearest distribution point along with information on the amount. Maybe just a countdown with a "mining" gif once you are within the radius. Something where you can put your phone away and wait for it to "mine" your bitcoins so you can actually socialize/shop/order a meal/etc. without needing to keep your eyes on your phone like with Pokemon.

I could likely do something that simple then expand from there.
