It's not really a choice anymore. The banks, the governments, Wall Streeters... They don't have a choice in my decision to use BTC. Now that it is clear that nobody is going to be able to stop bitcoin, of course they are showing support. The war is over and we won.

Smart move, nerds are typically not very interested in politics, by expressing her support for the blockchain tech she will have converted a few neutral/undecided tech lovers to her cause. I very much doubt her statement implies her support for Bitcoin though. But it's a step in the right direction Smiley

This is a great news. Bitcoin is almost the very first (and the only one, at the moment) practical application of blockchain. Supporting blockchain is directly promoting bitcoin.

Do she has a bitcoin donation address? She should create one to show that she is accepting the bitcoin community.

Do you trust in politics?

Hillary is saying everything to make people vote on her. Even said that she would reveal all secret alien files.

I don't think she will fulfill any of her promises, including this one about Blockchain

Hilary Clintons pledge is just a political strategy to attract more voters and for her to win the next election. But this is a good news to bitcoin industry, government backing up bitcoins will increase bitcoins stability in the market. I foresee an increase in bitcoins price if Clinton will win the presidency and I hope she will win so it will benefit us bitcoin users.
Even if this is just for getting votes, it seems fine, because at least this way someone serious would support btc.
However, I think there will be people who will say it's a bad thing, because the government just wants to take btc under control, deal with the tax problem and so on

this is interesting, first Obama voices concerned indirectly about bitcoin and the "Swiss bank in your pocket" and the new Candidate is talking about support for blockchain, although the important keyword here is "blockchain technology" not bitcoin though!

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Very true. Hilary has yet to show the slightest support towards BTC or cryptocurrencies. She only said she supported blockchains, and that means databases spread around many computers all over the world. The US government could probably use a blockchain for its Medicare program. Or in the Army.

She didn't say she support bitcoin.
Exactly, she supports new fancy word blockchain which is just distrubuted database. Invention known for over 20 years :|
Bitcoin is unique coz its backed by biggest computer in the world. You can't replicate that.

just mentioning blochchain might be going to use the system for enhancement not exactly or pointing to bitcoin directly
i think she will just ride with the popularity and not really concerned about bitcoin directly.

Well whatever the obvious motives here, be they political or otherwise, still makes us feel good to know someone up there is willing to back Bitcoin and help the technology move Humanity forward in some way or another.

if she support btc. then the bitcoin in your country will not be anonymous because bitcoin is used to transact illegal drugs and weapon and the government would not tolerate that.

Meh. I'll see it when I believe it, I too think this is just a ploy to get (nerds?technophiles?anarchist?) more voters on board in the fight against Voldemort (Trump). Blockchain technology should REALLY take a back seat in the mind of any potential presidential candidate; there is entirely too much shit going on in the world right now to fix. People are getting shot and blown up here and abroad essentially because of cultural differences. Be that skin color, or religious beliefs. Financial transparency is great, but you know, well, there are dead people.

Now if those emails had been on a blockchain.. Grin

nah, these news like this actually scare me because the government is no pro bitcoin and never have been this way.

and i don't see any reason why they should change now and become supporters for bitcoin even if she is the new president i doubt anything in this area would change.

i hope this is not just a campaign advertising thing when the politician says a nice thing only to look good and get some votes and then does another thing. it happens a lot more that you think.

also i hope she mostly means bitcoin instead of blockchain without bitcoin!
