I've mined some, as well as purchased a little bit.   Bitcoin intrigues me technically, I have no idea whether or not anything will come of it long term, but it's something that I don't want to have regrets later down the road about.
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Got interested listening to a conversation with Gavin Andresen on a tech-podcast two weeks ago (http://omegataupodcast.net/2011/03/59-bitcoin-a-digital-decentralized-currency/). Bought a little and had been seduced by the rally happening just afterwards. Bought some more and now waiting how the thing is evolving.

Seems it is not the rapid money thing but a long time interesting experiment. Do not plan to buy or sell but to hold.
