Question for you - why CGS? Apart from the inconvenience of having to send your coin to the US.
ANACS is the usual "standard" here. Don't see CGS very often. Still, bring it out, sure someone will be interested Smiley

That is a beautiful coin man! MS66 in my view, which matches up with the equivalent between the two companies. Ah, was just wondering Smiley
Good luck with your sale, sure you'll have a interested party or two when the majority get out of bed  Grin

Edit: that cgs scan is stunning.

Can anyone look at the circled area in this picture and give their thoughts please?

Looks to me like the holo is picked at or partially lifted. Like someone started peeling then had a change of heart... seal appears to still be intact around the private key so still funded. But unfortunately very unappealing in appearance  Undecided

Oh dear i think my sales thread has been killed  Cry

The cgs scan is not very flattering...to say the least, to the naked eye this coin really looks beautiful & it's defo not been tampered with otherwise cgs would have sent it back ungraded. imho

>>> Anyhow's if anyone fancies this coin or would like to look at it in person (UK), send me a message (all offers considered) <<<

Whereabouts in UK are you?

I ask as it seems wise to get an independent viewer to confirm the status.

I would be happy to help out if you're nearby or reachable without too much grief.

That or someone else reputable could possibly help out.

Just a thought

I'm really wondering what caused that stain. The scan looks messed up but the coin looks fine in the photos you've posted.

None of the second batch of images appear to show the problem.

My guess is that the CGS image is not a scan, but a regular photo... and something was in the background partially blocking a light source or causing an odd reflection.

Yeah that photo is terrible, hopefully OP didn't pay imaging fees for that... Tongue

I would have to agree with you about that being a reflection. If the hologram looked that bad the other pictures would show it. I still think it is a waste of time and money sending them into CGS UK for grading. ANACS is clearly the golden standard we use (I know ANACS is not the greatest, but they are the best that will grade for us).

Yep. And now that I am taking a closer look at the CGS photo of the obverse, there is clearly a dark spot at the top. Same-ish size and shape, and same location as the one on the reverse. Pretty confident now this is shite photography of on the part of CGS and not representative of the coin.

OP, good luck on the sale. Price might be a bit ambitious, but not totally unreasonable. I sold an ANACS MS65 error recently for about your asking.

I met OP this afternoon to view this in person. I am 100% confident that there is no issue whatsoever with this coin, and the fault lies with the CGS scan in this case.
A deal has been made for the coin.
