A big realization is what happened to me to quit gambling. I am into lottery gambling before and when I realized I am just wasting my money and I will never able to save a lot, I stop. I still bet in a lottery but not like before that I always do it. Gambling is risky and always been so it is you who will really decide. It's your understanding when you will going to quit in gambling for good. To be honest I'm really into gambling but I manage to lessen my addiction through my will. If you really want to quit gambling for good ask yourself what will happen if you continue.

well you're correct i think knowing the consequences would be a good motivation for you to quit. losing not just money, but family and loved ones, also  your personal and social life. gambling especially for those that are addicted to it will take most of our time and resources, which may lead to the person taking for granted things that are more important. so for me thinking about losing these things would be reason and motivation enough to quit asap

Tell your wife or mother that you have a gambling problem. For sure they will always look and see what you are doing and they will always ask you if your back gambling. That will surely make you stop because you want their annoyance to stop.

After I read so many advice to quit gambling, your advice is the best for me. I think your wife, your mother doesn't like to see you gambling, and when they knew that you are have a problem in gambling, I'm sure they will ask you to stop, even more than just asking you to stop gambling.

If by minimizing the bet amount and lowering the visit to gambling sites are that easy then you do not call that addiction you could simply control your emotions. I would like to add something since you said all these,simply disconnect the internet connection so that you do not come online nor gamble.

I don't recommend looking for "motivation". Motivation is just like a feeling. It goes away after a day or two. I haven't seen someone motivated 24/7. Even the people featured on TV or in Youtube in motivational videos still have days that they aren't motivated at all. What I'm going to recommend is discipline. When you have discipline, you don't need motivation at all. Motivation would make things easier but you wouldn't have to depend on that anymore since you're a disciplined person.
