There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Holding bitcoins worth 10,000$ does not mean one had to invest 10,000$...

Exactly.

Question in thread title and one you posted does not really match. There are people who have a lot of bitcoins but invested no fiat
money in them directly but through buying mining hardware, electricity bills and so on. I bought not a single Satoshi by now, but I'm
close to you top category. How? Faucets (bitcoin giveaways) 1%, mining 4%, doing some actual work for bitcoins 95%. So your 1st
question applies to me, but 2nd not.

You should clarify what exactly interest you.

Im asking how many USD your Bitcoins are worth. duh

Maybe some people are figuring that just because Gox won't pay them what their coins are worth at this point in time doesn't mean they aren't really worth $10,000+ per coin!

(Like mine! Mine are worth at least $10,000 each hence my lack of desire to sell/spend them currently!)

Strange that is right near where BFL is supposing assembling and shipping their ASICs.   Wonder if it has anything to do with that?  Maybe a payment (kind of round number though) for more stuff so they can get those orders shipped?
What else could this be for?

It could be one of mtgox's wallets, a early adapter, or satoshi nakomoto himself
