Japanese news reports that Mark Karpeles the infamous CEO of Mt Gox was released on bail yesterday. The video from News24 Japan says Karpeles was let out after being imprisoned for a year and he was released on a US$100,000 bail.

Mark Karpeles Posts Bail and Weighs a Lot Less

Mark Karpeles was arrested last year by Japanese authorities for being involved with the Mt Gox fiasco losing roughly 700 thousand Bitcoins. Prosecutors are accusing Karpeles of embezzling $3.4 million after his company filed for bankruptcy. Karpeles has been arrested two times so far for moving money.

If that's true, then I think it is unfair to those who have lost a lot of bitcoin in sites that he got. I think the trial is done there is a conspiracy and that could probably be done because karpeles had enough money to do so

Wow, Karpeles looks more healthy than ever and more happy. I don't know if what type of prison he was in but it doesn't seem very tough.
And now, because "the government classification of Bitcoin has changed officials might be starting from scratch".
Karpeles is free once again and this case could take another years before it will be fully closed. Welcome to the bureaucratic world of law and order.

Also: LOL AT THIS -  'Japanese police have also tried to get Karpeles to sign a statement saying that he was Satoshi Nakamoto'

WE HAVE HIM BOYS! Satoshi confirmed!

There could potentially be a conspiracy, however I would doubt that at this point in time and I personally think that he was released because the Japanese justice systems don't work like the American systems. I think he might have been released earlier due to the circumstances implied by the post; that being prosecutors accuse Mark of embezzlement but it hasn't been proven, hence the bail.

That's how Japanese police work.   They just try to get you to agree to some bullshit which has nothing at all to do with reality.  They don't care about truth.  Truth is not a very important part of the justice system in Japan.

This whole thing is classic.

If you have no morals and some free time you can rip people off and pretty much get away with it.
By his actions he has already proven he has access to the missing BTC.
So, he has to spend sometime waiting, in jail granted, to be able to use the funds, but hey that is a small price to pay for 600,000+ BTC.

hmmm, maybe I need a career change?

Posting bail only means he isn't in a cell. This isn't over yet, this is part of the legal process and is to be expected. I see they don't serve Starbucks in Japanese prisons.

I still have the feeling he is sitting on a mountain of bitcoin, waiting for all this to resolve.
