Hello,

here are my settings and the power what i have.

6 Cards from type Saphiere RX 480 8 GB
Code:
SC Speed ~ 2300 MHs
ETH Speed ~ 155 MHs
GPU MHz 1000 MHz
GPU Voltage 900mVolt
MEM MHz 2200 MHz
MEM Voltage 900mVolt
Power @Wall ~ 1000 Watt (incl. Mainboard / CPU / etc. --> 70 Watt)
Watt / MHs 6 Watt / MHs ETH

ETH - Total Speed: 156.350 Mh/s, Total Shares: 19, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:16
ETH: GPU0 26.072 Mh/s, GPU1 26.026 Mh/s, GPU2 21.463 Mh/s, GPU3 25.976 Mh/s, GPU4 25.996 Mh/s, GPU5 26.067 Mh/s
 SC - Total Speed: 2345.239 Mh/s, Total Shares: 45, Rejected: 0
 SC: GPU0 389.627 Mh/s, GPU1 377.211 Mh/s, GPU2 252.559 Mh/s, GPU3 385.632 Mh/s, GPU4 383.748 Mh/s, GPU5 384.098 Mh/s

I have 6x 480 gpus
all of them are 1000mhz @ 800mV
Mem 2000mhz

Getting 24.5MH/s per card @ 900W for whole rig at the wall

How did You get memory to 2200mhz? Max I can set in Wattman is 2050.... If I read correctly older version of ati drivers could push them to 2200?

So what is your OS and driver version?

Thanks

You probably have the 16.7.3 driver that have lower mem clock limit (2050)
Switch to 16.7.2 and the limit will be 2250.

You can't get 20MH/s with a 280X anymore. Max is maybe 18.50-19.00MH/s

There is a Stilt BIOS which was used to maximise Litecoin/Scrypt mining.

I wonder if that BIOS can push the max to mine ETH.

Been looking for this Stilt BIOS high and low but I couldn't find it.

Anybody has one?

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Check this out.  hope you can find them here.. I would save them all just to make sure you have them. seems they are being deleted everywhere.  Get em while ya can now may be useful in the future.

280x used to have 20+ mh on eth but that is over since the dag size increase, stilt bios won't help you, I have 4 r9 280x with stilt bios and runs at 17.8-18.3eth / 446-460 sia (2different brands, undervolted to the max)

Thanks for the info..  Id keep them anyway  never know what will be the next profitable coin to mine after eth goes POS.  Could be some advantage.. I agree tho i dont think we will squeeze much more hash outta those 7970/280x cards.   i just purchased an xfx rx470  shows only 102 watt total draw on gpu z @ 22mhs Eth. will confirm once i have some more time.  Been fighting heat again.. Pushing mid 90's in midwest with 75% humidity.

Ill get you some real world data later this weekend. I have a whole variety of cards to show results.

Best Regards

MSI R9 290 with Arctic Accelero Hybrid III - 140 (R9-290X) Multi-Compatible Air/Liquid Cooler

Am I missing something? It's entirely possible I'm wrong. I just did the math in my head.

At $99 for this cooler this isn't worth it.  The speed improvement isn't enough to justify the cost of the cooler. You can just buy more GPUs.

True but the fans on the MSI 290 are horrible and have a short life.  Also very loud and run pretty hot at 100% GPU utilization.  30-40 days and the cooler is paid for hopefully.   I have had these 290s many months now and they have paid for themselves already.  1 fan on each of my 290s died recently and I was tired of the heat and the noise the factory cooler put out.

That actually makes sense. If you have busted fans it may be cheaper to buy one of these coolers than a new GPU.

I'll have to keep that in mind for my own equipment!

For sure, there are two reasons why I run my Rigs on stock Speed:

On the 390er Rig I use 2 x Corsair HX1200i (3 x r9-390 on 1 PSU) When I overclock the 6 Cards there drain over 2250 Watts from the PSU´s. Its unsafe for me to push the Units to there Limits.
And the Temperature goes much higher. On warm Days over 83 +. If I build more Rigs and can put them in a separate Room with air condition then I can tune up these Cards.

With overclocking the Single R9-390 Rig reach about 198 MH/s hashing Speed.

@willi9974

1.) SIA-UI installieren, Seed aufschreiben/abspeichern, Wallet öffnen
2.) Claymore starten :-)

Meine Befehlszeile:

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.worker -epsw x -dpool http://localhost:9980/miner/header -dcoin sia -mode 0 -dcri 45 -tstop 85 -ethi 16 -dbg -1
