- Ryan LaFlare was expected to face Alexander Yakovlev at the event. However, LaFlare was removed from the fight in early June after sustaining an undisclosed injury and replaced by The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians winner Kamaru Usman.

- Tony Martin was expected to face Michel Prazeres at the event. However, Martin pulled out on July 6 due to a neck injury and was replaced by promotional newcomer J.C. Cottrell.

Interested to see Holm fight after the loss. She got caught late vs tate and I thought she was winning. Some in her camp said with all the
attention after the rousey fight she didnt train that great and her cardio was lacking. Which is why tate was able to get to her late. Hopefully

I'm sure Holm will win on that match versus Shevchenko. Her lose versus tate is very lucky imo, because Tate take down holm and as you can see, Tate lose her belt easily 3 days ago.

Yeah, I think we'll see a uber motivated Holm coming out of this match.  After being beat by Tate like that in the last fight I'd imagine she's itching to get back in the octagon and take back what she lost asap.  Her opponent is also coming off from a loss vs Amanda Nunes of all people.

barboza and melendez I believe was upgraded to a "co-main event"

melendez has lost a couple in a row and looks pretty crappy. He also
failed a drug text and sat out like a year. Could be why he took the drugs
was cause he was losing badly in the octagon, so he was trying to get
an edge.

Well, anything could happen.
But Holm has one big advantage over Shevchenko (or over any right-handed fighter, to be honest) and it is her Southpaw stance.
Which can be problematic to deal with for fighters experienced in fights vs. primarily  right handed opponents.
Personally, I won't place a bet on this fight.

yeah for the reasons you just named Its holm or nothing for me. Holm stylisticly is just a bad match up for shevchecnko. Of course anything can happen but its holm

This will be a good fight but Valentina Shevchenko is the real thing ! Can Holm manage her Muay Thai skill with his kickboxing? Hopefully she improved a lot from his lose to Ronda Rousey.

I probably say yes that Holm is a beast but it depends when both fighters in the octagon will clash with their own styles. I'm still thinking which side should I bet my on Valentina Shevchenko (Bullet) or Holly Holm(The Preacher's Daughter).

I will take Valentina here as the underdog. She has as good or better striking, she will have to get around Holms sidekick that she uses well to keep people at distance. Valentina also has an advantage in clinch and on the ground imo.

Edson Barboza (17-4) vs. Gilbert Melendez (22-5) (Lightweight)
Good matchup depending on the odds Ill take Barboza with + money or -100. I would think about Melendez if he is at good + money.

Felice Herrig (10-6) vs. Kailin Curran (4-2) (Women's Strawweight)
Going to rewatch some of Curran´s fights, and come up with a pick here. I dont have a lot of confidence in Herrig who has not looked great in the octagon. Ok striking and ok wresling, nothing amazing. Prob go with an underdog cards no bet option.

I'll go for Holly Holm on this fight. Holm is hungry for a win and needs to prove something to the UFC management that she is ready for another title fight. We might see a submission or a KO on the first 2 rounds but I guess a title fight for Holm is still far from reality because UFC management already have someone in mind regardless if Holm wins.

Seeing some big value on Matt brown against ellenberger , I think Browns
going to really take control in the middle of the fight and grind him out. Browns a
a beast in there and seems like ellenbergers a shell of his former self for sure.

That looks good.  You just gave me an idea.  What do you think of parlaying Holm and Barboza @ 1.93?  Those are two solid favorites in this card.  

Holm, in my opinion, will be more motivated than ever coming in this fight especially after that bad beat vs Tate.  Shevchenko has nothing on Holm except for when she goes for the clinch.  But we saw what happened when Rousey tried that strategy.  

Barboza is looking good, still progressing fight after fight and going for that title challenge.  He has a future ahead of him.  Melendez, one of my favorite fighters, what can I say?  It's so sad to see him fighting to make himself still relevant in the sport.  Coming out with two back to back losses and one year suspension plus a sticter USADA, I just can't see him win vs Barboza.  The odds are stacked against him.

You guys have to get real with your odds if you expect people to use DirectBet to wager on MMA or boxing. I've tried many times as I'm a big combat sports gambler but it's almost impossible to ever put a wager down for a whole host of reasons. Firstly, your pre-fight moneylines are consistently far worse than just about every decent fiat and many BTC sportsbooks out there. Then the live lines during the fights are so heavily juiced it's ridiculous. One fighter looks like he or she is ahead 10-9 after round 1 and the odds jump to -1500 or -3300 or even -10000. Who is going to bet at those sucker prices? And most of the time, even if the fight is competitive, you only put up one side live once the fight gets a few minutes underway- either the favorite or the underdog- not both sides, depending on who looks like they are losing. And even then the odds are so disadvantageous only a fool would wager at the terrible prices usually offered. And if a bettor does find a rare spot and put a bet in, the odds are moved around so randomly and quickly by the trader that even if you rush and send your bet in as fast as your fingers can type in your wallet, it often gets rejected as the odds have changed in the meantime, which ends up costing some coin for the transfer fees.
