I dont think bitcoin will kill off all other ALT coins. Imagine 5 or 10 years from now end users are selling their products online and accept multiple forms of payment BTC, ETH, LTE, etc. Why not??? Just look at this chart here.

http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

This is the total percentage of the market that Bitcoin dominates. And since the beginning you can see that the peaks are becoming less and less. So this means ALTs are taking up a bigger percentage of the total Crypto market cap.

I think BITCOIN will be a STRONG crypto. It will be the mother of all cryptos, people will buy it to branch into other ALTs if need be.

Yes that is right. Like fiat currency which has dollars, peso, yen, euros, and pounds so was bitcoin currency. Bitcoin was like dollars and other cryptocurrency are like peso, yen, euros and pounds. In a cryptocurrency economy it is not good to have only one currency but multiple but among them there is a primary currency that is above all them and that is bitcoin.

I believe so, that not it would be a multiple crypto, the more merrier they say. Aside from that we have another option to pay in other cryptocurrency. Also its good in trading as we can trade  in other currency we have the opportunity to spread our trading. But this altcoins will not survive without the community support who are supporting it. It is survival for an alt to be popular and valued since there is a proliperation of alts and some are considered already as scam. No tangible roadmap and project etc.

It is currently happening actually. have you tried betting on directbet.eu?  you can see that you can bet which ever coin you have such as dash, eth, ltc and of course btc.
Like the rest of us here i once tried Yobit Dice and you can even use coins that isn't every by the rest. Yobit dice allows you to bet all coins they have listed on their exchange. So yes these alcoins are staying for good and they will eventually be used widely.

I was thinking the very same thing. Bitcoin doesn't have endless capacity, and the people eat up pump and dump altcoins for breakfast. Exponential growth is going sideways.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

I also think that, as I see it has enough capacity bitcoin limited and whereas if bitcoin can be crypto currency favored by all. Then I worried because the down will experience a bitcoin users always use the bitcoin every second

Yes, i tried in Yobit dice. All my not so known alts, those who are devalued cryptos  I use to bet on Yobit Dice. More alts means more opportunity to use and earb from it.Most gambling sites are now adapting multicurrency to have a wide reach of gamers.

Isnt this going to make chaos if there are a lot of online currency out there? I see its good specially for gambling websites and traders but how about the future.

It is good to see some competition for bitcoin, so the development should continue for it to not be overtaken in terms of popularity, usability and overall trust. Let's just hope that the more altcoins come out, the better the experience we as users have. The competition should only make the world of crypto currency move forward to serve what their market wants and needs.

Its been a chaos even today so no worries. The more alts will soon be created after all one can stop someone from creating but that doesn't mean all of them will have values. Those coins not being used by their own community will soon die too. There are lots of dead coins already.

There is no doubt that bitcoin is the strongest of all cryptocurrencies but ltc, dodge and the rest need some improvements if they are to remain on the list 10 years from now. Some new coin might just rise and chase them out of the game if care is not taken...

I think BITCOIN will be a STRONG crypto. It will be the mother of all cryptos, people will buy it to branch into other ALTs if need be.

i did a little rearrangement here and this much is right (except the strike-through part), there is no argument that in the future bitcoin won't be the only cryptocurrency that is being used. it is pretty much possible that new altcoins can become big and strong.
but those altcoin are not the ones you might think and especially ethereum which will never be in that list because it is just a pump and dump coin with a lot of manipulation behind it to keep it alive.

Quote
Just look at this chart here.
http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage
This is the total percentage of the market that Bitcoin dominates. And since the beginning you can see that the peaks are becoming less and less. So this means ALTs are taking up a bigger percentage of the total Crypto market cap.

the only thing that this link proves is that bitcoin price is now somewhat stable, so the trade volume of bitcoin is lower and traders are looking elsewhere to earn some profit and what is better than pump and dump coins.

in other words the highest volume altcoin is the most pump and dumped coin of this year.

I agree, I think altcoins are here to stay. Plus crypto would be a lot less exciting if there was only Bitcoin. The vast majority of alts are insignificant but every now and then you get a new coin that truly attempts to bring something new to the table and that's pretty cool. I think that somehow altcoins complement Bitcoin, they help strengthen the entire cypto sphere.

No i disagree, though i can see that the combined alt market capitalization is growing, i very much disagree that they would be as fluid as Bitcoin, especially in the next 5 to 10years. I believe it would just be the same as it is right now, alts would mostly just be used for currency exchange; why do i say so? Bitcoin is already having a hard time being accepted by large companies such as Amazon, but it has gone as far to be accepted by Steam, NewEgg and Microsoft. I doubt these firms would consider having other cryptocurrencies to be used in their payment system. So i say altcoins will only go as far being traded between users but not large firms.

It seems to me that for now multiple cryptocurrencys are needed since at the moment we dont have one coin that ticks all boxes, perhaps in the future we will get one that does eveything. Either that or we may have to rely on side chains. For ease of use i think it would be easier just having the one cryptocurrrency but i think your right. already we are atr the stage where there are a few different ones needed.

Right now bitcoin is dominating the market of cryptocurrency. But altcoin aren't designed to compete their mother. For me, altcoin like ETH, DOGE, and the others are the ways to safe my bitcoin into other forms. Also altcoin are used for daily traders to earn profit. They buy it and sell it everyday, so I don't think altcoin can have same market cap with bitcoin which is bought and held for long term. Maybe in 5 or 10 years from now, we will see a new cryptocoin which is a mother of some altcoin and designed to be a rival of bitcoin, also has bigger market cap.

I agree that crypto will be a lot less exciting if only bitcoin existed. However I don't like so many alt cryptocurrencies which maybe they take some stress out of the blockchain but they do also harm to the bitcoin in the sense that they take from bitcoin a part of its power and price. I think if only bitcoin existed now we would see a much higher price of bitcoin but since it has a lot of branches(alts) then the price is not as high as we would like it to be. I am against this future and I only believe in bitcoin personally.
