As he confirmed further, the platform have also incurred a small loss – worth around $85,000 – in the form of their native cryptocurrencies Steem Dollars and Steem. The price might have dropped a bit (~20%) now, but they have come out of nowhere to become the third most valuable cryptocurrency.

in what way is it the third most valuable currency? it's all market cap bullshit again. volume on pretty much the only exchange is between 1-2 million dollars and i'm gonna guess a fraction of the total supply is actually available to trade.

I hope they find who did it and put stronger security measures on their network. They are lucky they were able to detect the fraud on time and only 260 users were affected.
