Blockchain Social Media Steemit Compromised; Investigation Underway

The cyber attack, according to CEO Ned Scott, affected over 260 user accounts. As he confirmed further, the platform have also incurred a small loss – worth around $85,000 – in the form of their native cryptocurrencies Steem Dollars and Steem. While the origin (of the attack) and perpetrators behind it are still unknown, the platform is currently working with cyber security experts and law enforcement authorities to investigate the incident...

Looks like they got off to an early start.

It took months for eth to soar and then turn to shit.

The price might have dropped a bit (~20%) now, but they have come out of nowhere to become the third most valuable cryptocurrency.
Let us see if the price drops further or this is about it.

in what way is it the third most valuable currency? it's all market cap bullshit again. volume on pretty much the only exchange is between 1-2 million dollars and i'm gonna guess a fraction of the total supply is actually available to trade.

I hope they find who did it and put stronger security measures on their network. They are lucky they were able to detect the fraud on time and only 260 users were affected.
