Being a FB marketer, I can tell you that setting up an event is not the way to do it. Your best bet would be to setup a fanpage with a application tab with some interactive stuff for people to like the fanpage and invite friends to it.

This is an excellent idea. Set up an info and fan page on facebook to educate the masses and get people and businesses using bitcoin.
We need more businesses accepting bitcoin first though. What about a facebook page and campaign to do just that first?

I think it will help peole discover BTC, but if it succeeds I would expect a crash afterward. Doesn't this put artificial demand into the system?

that sounds like a valid argument. i'm not that familiar with FB. may i take your comment and post it to the event/user as a proposal?

+1 absolutly. having an event would be ok but not what we need right now. personal i think FB is the devil and all should be wherry of it, but the exposure would make me more money
