Do I need a special 16x riser to plug into standard 16x PCI slot in MB? Or I can just use 16x1 USB riser?

It needs to have external power.  Something like this:

I know. The question is different:

Do I need riser like this:

1) https://www.amazon.com/PCIE-Micro-Express-Flexible-Extension/dp/B00D79EV0G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468696720&sr=8-1&keywords=16x+riser

2) Or I can use standard risers like these
https://www.amazon.com/PCI-E-Express-Extender-Riser-Adapter/dp/B01GVC5QNQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1468696758&sr=8-2&keywords=16x1+riser

the 1x->16x usb riser is the best option, and sould work in 90%+ of motherboards

ps: avoid MSI mobos, particularly the "killer LAN" ones, as they require abnormal drivers tat are a PITA

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

Ok

Can I put that small 16x:1x riser into the full size 16x PCI slot? Will it work properly?

yes, you can you don't need the x16 x16 riser, but the performance may suffer when attached to the monitor

You can put the 1x risers into any PCI-E slot.

Not your keys, not your coins!
