Firstly, I'm high as shit right now. Anyhow, I'm relatively new to BTC (compared to others on this board). I've held BTC from $28 to $40, then on and off up to just recently (out at $56). I keep telling myself to sit it out until the bubble pops, but then I always jump in again (each time making a profit).

I just jumped in again at $64 with about 25% of my holdings, and justified it with the following:
  • When something is going up, it will keep going up (I got this from the Turtle Trading Method(?) I think). What's the point in exiting until it's actually started down?
  • ^Is the reasoning from the above point what causes crashes?
  • What about Spain and Malta? What if some event causes BTC to go up radically high? Won't it in the distant future anyway?
  • Don't people wish they bought GOOG (Google) when it was <$100? (GOOG opened at $816.83 today)
Alternatively (and if any of the above is true), what if there's no point in selling at all? Why didn't I just have steel balls and hold my BTC from $28 to now? I'd have over doubled it (instead of the measly 30% I have in reality).

I'm really stoned. If you're a bull, in the future you'll look back on this and nod. If you're a bear, you'll laugh your ass off. Any thoughts?

You should rename this thread "I'm high and just bought at $64.05".

just look at the results of opinion polls re speculation.. results (non-scientific as they may be) are always heavily tilted towards massive and sustained growth

Why buy Bitcoins? If anything this should be the time you demand Bitcoin in payment for your services over paper currencies, it will take less time and effort in the long run.

i just bought, and will be buying if the price goes up or if the price goes down, the inherent attributes of bitcoins
suggest to me that in the long run they will skyrocket beyond anything i can imagine, cyprus is just the beginning,
as soon as the European people realize that with euros or dollars or anything short of gold and silver in their hands, they will loose everything.
Bitcoins are a gift to the European people, a chance to literally save their money and maybe their lives if they take advantage of the opportunity.

I love gold and silver, but bitcoins may just be the best!

I didn't quite realize, that Europe experienced the height of the euro financial crisis in the summer of 2012, that the US experienced in 2007-2008. Now with what is happening in some euro outposts which I'm sure you're all aware of, we are coming on eight years of headlines about financial crises. Added to that such flashpoints as we now see in Cyprus, the man on the street is really starting to think that he may have to look into other options. Whether it is logical or not - i.e., whether one things the dollar / euro will tank, along with their savings, etc. - the crypto currency market will most likely grow exponentially. Of course, we have people with 50,000 BTC out there who would, at a later date, have enourmous amounts of power over the BTC market. These 'big fish' would only be something to worry about in the coming YEARS - which by that time, who knows what your $200 investment today may be worth?

I sold about a grand of btc (all I have for the most part) at $46 thinking after the mining error that caused the price to drop by 10 dollars for a couple of hours, that it wouldn't dramatically go up anytime soon. Oh well.

I just want to get paid for what I am due, cash it out, and if I have some money to play with I may invest it in BTC for the long haul. That is where the actual money really is, but it's a complete catch 22 anyway you look at it unfortunately.

64$ for a bitcoin seems high, but in reality it is so underpriced its ridiculous. give it a few years that bitcoin may be worth 10,000+

Yes, I would hope that by now you've learned to hold on to them - that sounds like the lesson to me!  But still you've done pretty well by it so no need to have regrets.

I'm so proud that you added "IMO". So few people think of their statements about the future as opinion. And it makes your prediction into a fact!
