Buy a thunderbolt to PCIe x16 adapter if your labtop has Thunderbolt. Buy an AMD RX 480 or a GTX 1070 and have fun

I am not liable if this does not work. This should work.

For the most part you mine with actual PC's. Either with a well cooled case for your personal PC or a custom built PC on a work bench using PCEe x16 risers so you can elevate and space the GPU's apart. This is ideal since the GPU's will have more free air and the computer hardware is minimum. Cheapest motherboard that supports 4x PCIe x16 slots. No fancy this or that feature you do not need.

Only thing worth doing with a regular computer is downloading MinerGate and mining Bytecoin for s***'s and giggles. Not worth the electricity cost

First of all, forget the laptop mining. It is not profitable at all, and you might end up with the loss of your notebook due to excessive heat. Now about the PC, see, the best to mine currently with the GPU is ether. You need to get a very good graphic card and a good power supply for that, the rest of the hardware doesn't mean much to GPU mining. What are the specs of your computer BTW?

Probably hdd mining is the best for laptops?
If you are able to keep it running you'll gain some sort of profit (probably)..
It's cheaper just to buy the coins though.

HDD mining - for clarifiaction - are things like storj's website which offers decentralised cloud storeage in exchange for their cryptocurrency.

i think you need to listen to those previous replies laptop mining is not profitsble anymore just risking the life of your laptop and the coin reward is not really good, much better to buy coin and invest but if you are just looking for educational or try i think xvc / vanilla coin will do mate. good luck to you.

Thats a good idea if you can provide why not to go back to 2010 and mine bitcoin or buying huge amount of bitcoin and back to the present year and sell those bitcoins and i think it can affect the value of bitcoins right now also instead of our bitcoins is reduce supply we will notice that the amount of bitcoin are increased because he bring bitcoins from the past and use it here in our present year.
