Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Just had time to actually look at your response in detail, Balthazar... You still do not seem to understand the difference between centralized and decentralized cryptocurrencies. Although 'not being able to double spend' your own coin is one hell of a feature ( ), you're still either missing or intentionally...forgetting? the simple concept of end-users being able to compile their own client that *disregards* any current checkpoints *should we wish*. This prevents nefarious devs from derailing the project for their own gain. No, I'm obviously not talking about double-spending your own coin. Also, PoS 'fully' functional for the past 2 months? I noticed you like rolling your eyes at people, so I thought I would pepper a few in for good measure... Perhaps something is getting lost in translation? I don't have anything against you or you project personally but I do have a problem with misrepresentation of facts. Please understand, I only mean to clear up some of our past conversations that never reached a conclusion (I would be happy to move this to PM, if you wish), this is not an attempt to smear NVC in any way, these are the exact same sort of questions I would ask and points I would make to the ripple developers if they showed any intention of reaching out to the community as you have (meant to be a compliment in your favor). I've both mined and bought it and I simply believe factual transparency is best for the coin and all that hold it.

You still do not seem to understand the difference between centralized and decentralized cryptocurrencies.
Obviously not, because there is the difference between checkpointing and centralization. NVC and PPC networks are both has no central authority. There is no transactions control. the simple concept of end-users being able to compile their own client that *disregards* any current checkpoints *should we wish*.
They are able to do anything what they want. UfaSoft Coin client has no broadcasted checkpointing support, for example. Also there will be an option to disable it in official client, but it still will be enabled by default. No, I'm obviously not talking about double-spending your own coin.
Double-spend possibility it's the main measure and sign of centralization. If someone has ability to double-spend, then project should be perceived as centralized system. I.e. if there is a pool with more than 51% hashing power in BTC/FC/LTC/whatever, then this systems are centralized. It's quite simple. Also, PoS 'fully' functional for the past 2 months? Yes, and it's the main blocks source in the network, for now: http://cryptocoinexplorer.com:6750/chain/NovacoinI noticed you like rolling your eyes at people, so I thought I would pepper a few in for good measure... Perhaps something is getting lost in translation?
It's my usual gesture IRL, because of my work. I don't trust people, I trust math only. I prefer to be honest in that sense.
