Im looking to buy 8x Rx 480 but my dilemma is which manufacturer go with ? XFX (these guys have awesome support) MSI (stubborn cards with limited bios compatibility from other cards) Asus (nice designs but the lack of support) (and had this flickering shit on games that never find out what it was, tryed tons of BIOS, downclocks but nothing worked ) Sapphire (at r9 280x their cards had higher hashrates than the rest of r9 280x ) Gigabyte (had some nice version & some other was patatos ) So whats your experience and your thoughts ? 6x cards are going to mine Ether & the other 2x are going for gaming purpose

Get ASUS. The best quality in my opinion.

There was limit 2 where I purchased mine from so I ended up with 2x Gigabyte and 2x Sapphire
I would rather have had 4x Gigabyte, Asus, MSI as a tie for first picks -- then XFX followed by Sapphire as last choice.
Oh and I have 4x XFX 390s in another rig -- I personally think they could have done some things different but I relatively no complaints about them.

My preference is sapphire, msi. The new MSI Gamer OC Cards run insanely quiet.
I hear the ASUS are good but there is cross utility issues sometimes.
I've bought xfx, powercolor, sapphire, gigabyte, msi over the years.

I have 30 RX 480s from various manufacturer (sapphire, Asus, power color etc.) running since they came out. IMO they are all similar reference design probably using parts from same manufacturer.

I am waiting on true custom designs, they are coming: http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-480-custom-models/maybe 4gb sapphire rx 480 nitro with out of the box overclock and 8pin connector, allowing for higher TDP. maybe msi and/or asus will be good as well, but I like three fan designs (asus) less.

Even all the custom RX 480 news is old I do not know what is taking so long from this point now

Custom 3 fan 480s would be nice, but for heat exhaust I like reference design. It's really easy to manage heat for my 30 GPUs. But it's a different story with my 25 390s, heat leaving in all direction.

I have two power color 480s and two xfx w/ backplate 480s ( all 8gb) . It sure seems like the powercolors run cooler. Sample of 4 can't be wrong.... no?

Can you have a stable overclock on your PowerColors?

Can you have a stable overclock on your PowerColors? I've not been very aggressive. I've only tweaked the memory clock up to 2150. I've not flashed any firmwares. I under volt the Mem to 950 or 900. Sorry, fixed the formatting. Was replying on my phone.

From what I've read on other threads, no. Maybe 1 MH/s or so.

thank you all for your inputs , it seems ill go for sapphire is there a big difference in mining speed between the 4gb and 8gb model?
yes 4gb is faster that 8gb (what i have read at least) and you can flash the 8gb to 4gb to get that extra hash speed
