I don't understand, how can users at poloniex suddenly get the same balance of ETC than they had ETH. I mean this is real money appealring out of thin air. So everyone that had ETH got their money doubled ? wow. Does that mean that the ETH attacker can cash out the stolen ETH or ETC? Too complicated for me

Too complicated for me there are two chains now so that means that you get eth on both. your money ain't doubled as etc's currently worth a lot less but you have access to an equal amount of them. the dao thief gets etc coins but i'm gonna guess that he'll play along with etc and help it along somehow to punish the people who forked away. I dunno how it works if your coins were in an exchange at the time of the forking. does that mean poloniex gives you the same amount of etc for free? like you said, it's hard to keep up with it all. it's gonna be quite the light show in the coming weeks.

Once Bitfinex adds this week (and all indications are they will) then ETC will go into the stratosphere IMO.
I think the fundamentals are just too strong now for ETC to be more than a joke, the hardcore Ethereum community misjudged how many people were absolutely livid about the HF, add in all the other crypto users who "missed out" on the ETH ICO and see a second chance along with crypto whales who really don't care one way or another and just see a money making opportunity, it could go to at least 50% off Ethereum's marketcap in the short term.

Polo gives you both when you deposit now... and, overnight, retroactively for any deposit since the HF. imo, BTC whales and Chinese mining racketeers will keep ETC alive to beat Ethereum like a drum... They want to dead-end every single alt exactly the way Bitcoin has been dead-ended for 2.5 years and counting.

Better prepare for a lot of crying bagholders.
There will be only 1 chain left soon.

Since each user gets an equal amount of original/real ETH and the copy/forked ETH I'm not really sure what you mean. Unless they sell the winning chain (if there is one) now.

Ask yourself why would Busoni from Polo risk his entire business over this unless he phas some major crypto powers who told him privately if he does this they will support him. The logical thing would have been to let a shitty exchange like Yobit list first and let them take the initial risk and evaluate how the market reacts. So what made him do this? I don't think this was added on a whim, I think this is a larger plan being orchestrated behind the scenes to turn ETC into something major and not just a joke.

New chain: hard fork to bail out buddys run by crooks , has funds, and devs old chain: lots coins in hackers hands, anon dev , no "Connections" like the established team pick a winner its neither of those. Good clones over fighting forks all the way. Anyone really thinks this shitshow is gonna get better and end well for either chain?

What happens afterwards with the winner is another question.

The Devs should just go back to the original fork and continue working on that. They may have no choice if the market sees the new chain as fake and the original as the one with integrity.
So what if a smart contract went tits up. It worked - it did what it was supposed to do which was to faithfully implement the logic imparted to it. Nobody should have blinked an eyelid.

one of them appearently will do just that : Ethereum Core developer plans to support Ethereum Classic - https://medium.com/@zsfelfoldi/a-tale-of-two-chains-3f6d58a9df4a#.4vchxki6m

Why only 2 ?
I propose we fork ETC and call it ETX and get Polo to list it too.

A fork already got listed, it removed the original coin and was called ETH, the original coin (ETC) is now coming back from the unsuccessful coup. Why only 2 ?

Yeah, they just popped up for free on your account. And a great day for trading. The waves on ETC were crazy. Really wish I'd gone big at 30K sat though.
