Has anyone tried to withdraw their money from Intersango, their status has not been updated since 14th March 2013 and has been saying that the withdrawal backlog dates to 7th March 2013, this has been for more than a week now.

There is a queue, but it is being processed.  I'm sorry I forgot to update the status page, I'll be sure that it's updated more frequently.

As activity on Intersango decreases the rate of withdrawal requests has been increasing (this of course makes sense), however the rate at which they can be processed remains the same.

I would ask that people don't open support tickets for withdrawal requests in the "requested" state.

Transfers are manually processed, they have not gotten lost, opening a support ticket just means I have to spend time explaining this instead of actually processing them.

Some people have asked about what the order of the queue is: transfers are sent oldest to newest until the daily limit is hit (this is a BZWBK restriction) at which point the next smallest transfer under the limit is sent until there are no more.

Again transfers are being sent, but there is a significant queue.

I have $973 USD in an Intersango account.  I was using it as a backup and just left the money sitting there.  I had no idea that they closed the USD market months ago.  Now I cannot buy bitcoins with it and the support ticket I opened 40 days ago has not led to a resolution.  I'm trying to withdraw the money or exchange it for bitcoins.  The account is 100% above board and I used my real name, address, phone number, everything.  If you go to that address I will be the one answering the door.  I can provide any information that is necessary to expedite this process and I have records and proof of everything.  Below is a partial screenshot of my account (edited of course).  Patrick, can you get the ball rolling on this for me?  It would be greatly appreciated.

You were sent 5 emails over the course of several months warning that the USD market would be closed.

That was more than enough warning.

I offered to send you the equivalent in BTC at current market rates and you refused.

Now it's going to take time.

I rarely ever check that email address.
Well, that's hardly an excuse, TBH.

Your account with Intersango has been closed.

You cannot login as you are no longer a customer of Intersango.

This has no bearing on the funds in question.

Why is it that intersango wreaks of scam?

This has no bearing on the funds in question.

Just because the funds weren't claimed in a "timely" manner does not give you the right to ASSUME ownership of one of your customers' funds.

You should have had a backup plan to protect your customers. I.e. buy bitcoins with the USD he had in his account and store it offline just in case he ever came by. You would have actually made a profit because of the increase in BTC price you would still have BTC left over after paying your customer.

It seems like a shit thing to do to your customers by telling them just because they never claimed their money in your timeframe that you automatically get to keep all the monies left behind.

Bullshit.

Yep, fail on my part, there's a button there saying "cancel", they had to tell me in the support ticket Wink

BTW, one of them is saying "sent", took a bit over 1 week.

Let me guess that.

Because if for RoyalSands it is such a pain just to write a letter, print it and post it (which I totally understand), imagine how painful it is to find time to go see a lawyer. Whose fees will be higher than those 943$.
Because it is a matter of principle with little money involved.
Those matters are the harder ones to justify fighting for. I mean for people who have better things to do in life.

But still.

So you are trying to say that USPS lost 4 letters?

I just today received a letter from you.

It's not exactly what I asked for but is close enough.

A cashiers check will be in the mail within 5 business days.

(For those wondering yes it really has been a month since he claimed to send the letters... suspicious much?)
