bit coin is the best and most expensive crypto currency because it was the first coin to use the block chain technology.
So it kind of makes it the Original(like vampires) lol.

I'm not so sure in stating that it is the "best". There are altcoins that although have a far smaller market include very interesting technical developments that could shape new projects. The blockchain system can be applied to many things and bitcoin helped to birth that (like storj.io, which is awesome) yet there are more things that you could do.


Not sure about your analogy (the set, not the premise), but there have been other monsters before vampires. Mythology dates back far.

Cryptocurrencies today are like early internet, used only by some freaks. But 20 years later most people using internet without giving it a second thought. I dont know if after 20 years most people going to use cryptocurrencies, but the idea of public ledger and proving ownership by cryptographically signing the transaction/contract might find much higher demand in future than today (rather than blindly trust third parties that non-public ledgers are really fairly mantained, I mean after you figure it can be all done in trustless manner why to go back again)

IMO as long as you can buy certain ordinary things with an altcoin they can be considered money too.  It's just bitcoin have wider adoption than any altcoin so it can be considered superior (in terms of adoption, other things can still be debated).

This is the only one I understood. The negative events of all the crypto currencies are the one that is remembered like the fall of bitcoin from the past, the criminal usage of it, ETH small fall and a lot more. A new definition will given to such a thing whenever it goes to a fail. That is just sad.

This is true. But what the other coins are giving the ability to choose. A world where bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency is not only boring but also bad. In your self interest maybe you want it to be the only one because you think the price of bitcoin will reach $500,000 is it is so. But no. If there was only bitcoin then it will only take very little to control it just like how it is now controlled by the mining cartel and by the bitcoin oligarchs. Now because there are other coins out there all we have to do is drop bitcoin and support something else.

In my opinion, other cryptocurrencies out there also have their values. They have their own characteristics as well and they are used also by others. Maybe the difference is that, Bitcoin is the most well-known cryptocurrency as of today and had this higher potential of being accepted/adopted by most people/businesses/countries.

yes just agree with you, every coin has its pros and cons of each but seen from its name is altcoin only as an alternative only. For more great real investment in bitcoin only. And altcoin very beneficial if used by traders who have limited capital.

In 20 years, I think people are going to accept cryptocurrencies just as how much they have accepted cashless cards (credit cards, debit cards). It will all seem to be natural to us by that time, as long as there will be no major crash event that will happen though because those will definitely affect the image of cryptocurrencies.

Most people play with alt coins in order to make more bitcoin but there are some alt coins also that are making some headway and attracting long term people to grow communities but of course bitcoin is king and it will need some really heavy new technology to replace bitcoin or supersede it that's for sure.

I'm not sure bitcoin can be replaced. the mostly of ANN altcoin (especially in bitcointalk) in their thread there are telling their coin can replace bitcoin, because bitcoin is traditional coin bla bla bla with bla bla bla, but after a few months or years their coin is dead, dev can not found anymore, and the story they has to say are not realized.

Altcoins are propped up by speculation, all day every day. A majority of all crypto's value comes from speculation (like basically everything else in the economy) and thus trading is basically one of the only uses for a majority of altcoins. Ethereum is propped up by speculation but it also has some features which give it some value, but not as much as it does right now.

Bitcoin is the best crypto for sending and holding money, no question.

yeah i get your point but this whole revolution in crypto is not just about money, that is just one app, there is so much more to bitcoin and others.  if all you see is money then you need to read and learn abit more. trust me i thought myself that it was all about money once but now i realise.......

Let's also hope Bitcoin overcomes its block size limitation problem, which is slowing it down considerably.  People can say this problem doesn't exist, but I see it everytime I try to send BTC...

I agree with you as i don't see bitcoin as a cryptocurrency any longer but as real money. I can cash it out to my bank so it is viewed to me this way.

Yes, I agree bitcoin is a money when you cash out in the bank or other remittance center bitcoin you cannot see as a digital currency bitcoin is  real money.
