Can you please help collect stats on the number of users that each wallet/client has?

Some, like blockchain, publish stats:
https://blockchain.info/charts/my-wallet-n-users

But others aren't so transparent.... It would be very useful in getting a fuller picture of the total number of bitcoin users (and growth) to gather all these stats together in some place.

We can start with this:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bitcoin_Ladder#Top_clients

...and perhaps eventually have its own wiki page with a proper comparative review, similar to the one done by BitcoinMagazine here:

I've been touting the 2,000/month number based on the code.google.com/bitcoinarmory/downloads page.  The latest statistics are a little muddled though, because I released 87.2 very shortly after 0.87 but didn't announce it for a while to avoid spamming users with more updates.  So, I'm sure some there's a lot of duplicates there.  Also because many people use different OS for online and offline computers.

Though, it's offset by the number of users who also access via git repo directly, and OSX users using Red Emerald's brew formula to install Armory (because there's no official release for OSX, yet).  It's probably still less unique users than shown on the download page, but not dramatically.

So there have verifiably been 6,300 downloads of Armory between Jan 11 and March 22.  That means about 2,800 a month if they were all unique.  Therefore, I stay conservative and say 2,000/mo.

The MultiBit downloads stats are public and updated hourly:
https://multibit.org/awstats/awstats.pl?config=multibit.org

There is a link to them on the multibit.org pages at the bottom of the Downloads section.

I normally use the bandwidth figures rather than hits. The last table gives the data for the binaries. A rough and ready way of converting bandwidth to downloads is :

1 GB of download is about 35 downloads.

You can see the historic figures (from Jan 2013) using the combo box at the top.
