I'm looking for difficulty over time data. Just checked http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=2345.0 but the link is dead.

Someone with posting permission please reply to http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=2345.msg31382#msg31382 and notify him the link is not working. Thanks

Install the Bitcoin-Qt program from here:

It should download the blockchain for you.

Where can I download the blockchain?

http://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

You can download your wallet, and then when you have your wallet downloaded, it will start automatically downloading and syncing with the block chain, this is what I use.

I actually find it very interesting the way in which the difficulty is increasing. I believe in the future the difficulty will drop because it will get so hard its not worth it for people to mine, so a bunch will leave, and as a result, that will cause the difficulty to experience a significant drop.
