It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Gift/Family and Friends offers no security, none. As I am sure you are well aware , Paypal can be reversed for 180 days and more under certain circumstances.

Security wasn't the reason I mentioned sending as Gift/Family. It's because of fees. And hey! I like your siggy
