I was able to find a computer hardware shop that accepted Bitcoins, which got my surprised and excited. I began asking the shop owner several questions and one of which was -how had he gotten to know about Bitcoins? He replied that he used to freelance online and accept Paypal and Skrill but later had his account frozen, hence after scrounging online for alternative means of payments, he had stumbled upon Bitcoins. Ever since then he's been accepting it at his shop. Only thing I forgot to ask was was I his first Bitcoin customer or had he had anyone else pay in Bitcoins for computer hardware at his shop.

I have a hard time getting people to understand what bitcoin is, I don't think I will have the chance of speaking with a fellow bitcoiner for at least five years in my country Sad

With services like Localbitcoins I thought it would easier to find a fellow bitcoiner in your designated area of where you live. So to do business and trade with. But are you talking about to just talk about it and pass the time with? You can just do that here.  Smiley

There is a bitcoin atm (two actually) in my city and when trying to use one of them, I met a fellow bitcoiner who was waiting to use the same bitcoin atm. It wasn't working and the two of us were trying to figure it out. The machine had a bug or something and we gave up on trying to use it, scared/paranoid we might lose our bitcoin somehow, but we did talk abit about bitcoin ans stuff. It was pretty cool to meet a (kind of) random fellow bitcoiner.

I've also eavesdropped on two people doing a ptp bitcoin transaction at a Starbuck's once. I didn't engage either of them in conversation though. But I did think to myself, "Ah, two people doing a btc transaction in person, that's cool."

Now that I have moved from South Carolina to the west side of the country, my odds should improve ;-)

There 'used' to be more truth in forums than anywhere else.  Twitter:  @cryptobitchicks  Spock: "I am expressing multiple attitudes simultaneously. To which are you referring?"  INTJ-A

So the bitcoin ATM's are buggy to use? I never seen one in person but I would imagine they would be more vulnerable than the ones cemented in the wall of a bank. They are standalone ones that just sit on the floor from what I have seen on google maps.
Reminds me of that episode of Breaking bad when those two stole a standalone atm and ended up having his head pancaked.

I was also using my ledger hardware wallet(HW.1 model) on my samsung through OTG cable but people didn't noticed what I'm doing or simple they didn't care because they don't know about bitcoin or simple think that I'm a nerd or a hacker, so until know I haven't found any bitcoin IRL.
Well, it is not polite to look at other people's smartphone screens in the first place. Plus, in your situation someone would need to be really close to you to see what exactly you are doing.
Don't expect people standing like 15+ feet away to even remotely realize what you are doing. Op was in ideal situation, because he found fellow bitcoiner sitting right next to him...

I have uses bitcoin atm's a few times and never had any problems. The Lamassu brand work very well and don't require all that pesky ID verification that others do.
Sometimes there is disputes between the host and owners of the machines and that can cause problems.

Do you know the IOS app/game called Takara? It is like Pokemon Go but instead you look for bitcoins and counterparty tokens. It has a map and everything and it is like a treadure hunt. You can drop or pick up treasure boxes if you want. If your town has many dropped treasure boxes you will know that there are people in your town into bitcoin. I am still looking for treasures in my town. Smiley

Oh how cute. In our country if you take out your phone and start using it on a bus or on the street or in anywhere public, at least a dozen eyes will look at your phone and will try to steal it.

Where I live, it's very unlikely to find someone that invests in bitcoin. I'm sure there are peopl here that do, just not very many. I never hear anyone talking about bitcoin in person, only on the internet.

It may have even been me you were talking to! I was in the exact same scenario. I think was using a Trezor, though. The chances are very very slim to find a fellow bitcoiner.

Are you in Sydney!

It never happened to me before, but I wish it will happen. It's not just interesting to find another Bitcoiner IRL, it's also a good to way to share more information about Bitcoin.

Just today, I was on the bus and I was fiddling with my OTG cable to send a transaction on my phone with my Ledger wallet. I looked to my right, and what where the odds? The guy next to me was doing the same! We started talking, and we just kept talking!

What are the odds of you meeting a bitcoiner IRL?

P.s. I was not taking into the window.

I can`t find any bitcoiner in my town.I live in a small sity.

For me,the odds of finding another bitcoiner offline are 1:1000000000  Grin

the only fellow bitcoiner that i know is my friend and we have started using bitcoin nearly together and have been doing most things like our investments with each other too.

but other than that i don't really know anybody else, and i don't think i can meet anybody else either because in my country people aren't really interested in bitcoin which is sad.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.
