I have a private email mailbox from a high end swiss provider that has great security precautions. I'd rather not post it public, but if you would like to know just message me and I will send you the provider.

I use Gmail because is light and have a responsive design being the best free email provider that you will find. I don't recommend Outlook.com and Yahoo because they are slow and have a bad interface.

Gmail, it's fast and I never had any problems. I will continue using it until I find something better.

Surprising yahoo is no longer a contender for top spot despite being popular for a certain period but I frequently  use both yahoo and Gmail

Yahoomail  Grin

Never heard of Countermail as the original poster indicated.
