I wrote a small  Bitcoin extension to get live info and desktop notifications you can get more info and download it from my blog -

http://blog.non.co.il/index.php/bitcoin-live-chrome-extension/

(I'd be happy if one of the moderators will be able to move it to the general Disscussion since I don't have permissions to write in any other forum)

Hi,

Just trying this now. Is it possible to adjust the amount of time notifications appear? They often disappear before I can read them.

Thanks

Why is this not in the Chrome store like all the other bitcoin extensions?

You are right I'll make it stay longer and will also add a setting in the option
Ok did the changes you can either wait for chrome to update the extension automatically or just remove and reinstall (I don't know how much time it takes for them to update)

Why does the price differ from what I see here?

Added some improvements Including currency selection.
the extension should update automatically.

I received a notification via a small pop-up window about the update.

Regarding the currencies, where is the value determined, is it always MtGox? For example, looking at Cdn values, there's often a difference between the following:

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/virtexCAD.html

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/mtgoxCAD.html

Suggestions:

1. Alerts if Bitcoins go above a user defined price or below a user defined price.

3. Add visual cue to alert window (eg: a green Bitcoin on price rise, a red Bitcoin logo on fall).

I only take values from mtgox for now.
but if you have any other markets you think it will be good to follow send me a link to thier api and I'll do my best to add them
in a future version.

Suggestions:

1. Alerts if Bitcoins go above a user defined price or below a user defined price.

3. Add visual cue to alert window (eg: a green Bitcoin on price rise, a red Bitcoin logo on fall).

I'm planning on adding  more notification types on the next version.
Changing the notification is a good idea I'll try to see if I can push it on the next version as well.
