While I find it kinda weird that a group of people tries to defend their visions and ideals by using the tools of what they are trying to replace, this may be a landmark case regarding decentralized systems as a whole. Are there even remotely compareable cases?

Keep in mind, that this is not about majorities, but about people thinking they are in the right. What if they technically are, but the majority decides to vote against it? There is an argument to be made for both sides.

Lol. It is just a blog by someone who is trying to make things happen. I do not think anything will happen to the slock.it team and Vitalik. The SEC will not want to do in any of this because the legal background of cryptocurrencies cannot be defined as of yet. They will not risk filing a case because if Vitalik wins this will set a precedent for all cryptocurrencies as an escape route from being charged.

I don't think you achieve anything with that legal action. Why?
Because cryptocurrency is financial Wild West and with Ethereum strong marketing and legal support it is useless to fight with them over that DAO hack.
Lack of law & regulations in this case is making ETH team basically immune to all legal action consequences.
