I have two Sapphire Hd 5830's currently hashing at 256mhahs. I have seen in other post someone going to 311mhash with sapphire one. What software can i use. CCC does not want to go past 875mhz, nor does AMD GPU Clock tool want to work. When i start the software is says, no supported devices found. Can someone please help

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

MSI Afterburner.  Running 2 of them at 1025/325

You have to add this to the config file

EnableUnofficialoverclocking = 1
UnofficialOverclockingEULA   = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode   = 2
AccessibilityCheckingPeriod   = 0

In order to get the clocks, first set the memory clock to 675, close afterburner, reopen it, then set it to 325.

I'd recommend not going over 975 core clock unless you like a very unstable overclock.

3 5830s, mixed results at stock.

#1 - had to use RBE to flash and increase to 1000 core, 300 mem, stable, 320 mhash
#2 - didn't have to use RBE, stable at 995 core, 300 mem, 318+ mhash
#2 - didn't have to use RBE< stable at 980 core, 300 mem, 310 mhash

#1 runs a lot cooler 62.5C, well ventilated case
#2/#3 run around 72-75C, which may be why they can't go as high

I have a couple of 6790s that run around 75-80C, no issues at 1000 core, 300 mem, looks like the 5830s are a little more temperature sensitive?

All of the above using phatk with +3% efficiency mod

Use the latest version of Sapphire Trixx software.  No need to enabled unofficaloverclock or anything to override CCC limits.

http://www.sapphireselectclub.com/ssc/TriXX/TriXX.aspx

Newest version lets you select between different cards.  Also allows you to change voltage.
