My worst decision was when I lost my bitcoin bought for mining, the mining site closed down and lost too, to gambling all together about 0.03btc.

Hi, all. I know that everyone here would have made some terrible decision about BTC. So I was wondering, what is the worst decision that you have ever made.

Personally, my worst decision was gambling 1.3 BTC in dice, just yesterday. Smiley

Compared to yours, my losses are nothing, losing 1.3 btc in just a single day is really a bad feeling, i saw someone crying around somewhere in the forum for losing something similar to yours and wishing to kill himself.
Well my mistakes were always investing in hyips which never turned out to be good obviously, though i did not lose much but according to what i used to earn that time it was a lot for me.
And that's why you shouldn't invest in HYIP's, even if they pay out a couple of times, you will probably lose in the long run.
Plus you're enabling them to scam other people too.

Hyip's will pay you at initial stage to gain trust from you, and you will try to invest higher amount to get higher profits but then those sites will simply disappear with your investments.

I can`t think about some decision with btc that was worst for me. I think I said already that I`m a gambler, and mostly of my bad decisions are connected with gambling with bitcoins, cause I gamble just with btc. Only one thing is I regret about, that is not saving coins from time to time in some secret wallet. Other decisions are good, moment I joined here was one of the lucky moments in last couple years.
I hope in future I will start to pay attention more on saving, but its very hard for me to save when I`m always short with cash. Other then this, every decision about bitcoins was good.

I think there is nothing to regret about for you. You don't invest in gambling money from your official salary that your firm pays you. So those money that you lost on gambling were made only with using some part of your free time that you spent to make that bitcoins. I think it is smart to play games like you do. But yes, it would be also nice to stay like 50% of your bitcoin earnings for saving for future.
I wish you lot of luck and more winnings with gambling! Wink

Be prepared, it will happen to you in the future.

Lol if he have spend enough time in reading the experiences of people on this forum then I am sure he will be alert about the scams and ponzi sites that are operating around.

My worst mistake was spending all Bitcoins that I had then. I had 3 BTC that I won on gambling and I've spent it all. That was stupid and so far I didn't make to collect this sum again.  Sad
Ohhh that's sad that you spend all your bitcoin that you had or you earn 3 bitcoin is lots money where you can buy a new gadget for that or anything you want from internet for me if im win that amount im not going to risk it agian on gambling im going to withdraw it all and spend it to my love ones Smiley

You are not  the only one with this case.  Way back 2013, bitcoin cloudmining is so popular that every now and then lots of cloudmining company were established.  By 2014, there are more cloudmining that were announced and majority of them are just ponzis.  And I am one of those people who lose some amount of bitcoin from those ponzi cloudmining companies.

Worst decision was spending all my bitcoins at one time. Couldn't be helped at the time, but still. Should have looked for other ways. I had to start again and the thing is, the buy was at $1000 at the time. Urgh.  Anyway, after spending,a close second would be gambling away 2btc in a single day.Must have been possessed. lol.

I think one of my worst decision in bitcoin is that i use them to invest in a cloudmining company when i was just starting.  I think I invested around 0.8 btc total.  not much but for me it is a big lost because i work for it.  Anyway after investing to  cloudmining, it was a good payout in the start then week by week the payout is getting smaller until the cloudmining company shutdown.  I haven't got to ROI .

I always liked the sound of cloud mining - but was put off by hearing other peoples experiences of using it on this forum. After hearing all of the horror stories relating to cloud mining I'm very glad that I didn't subscribe to any.

everybody interested in bitcoin will at some point read up on the whole mining thing in bitcoin. after checking a bit more most of them will find out that it is probably not profitable or to risky to find out for sure, especially the high initial cost, noise and electricity. then they stumble on cloud mining and it sounds to good to be true. and of course it is, but it is human nature to want to fall for it. i can understand this.
what i can not understand is, if people tell you that it is a scam and you do still invest in cloud mining, because you are hoping that the service you are using is the one that is honest or you do not believe the other people warning you. looks like those people need to learn their lesson the hard way. no pity.
so i just want to congratulate you on your decision and please spread the word.

That's exactly it, well said. It's one thing that people try to invest into a certain service where they think they can get a good return from, but it's a completely different thing when people "invest" their money into obvious scams. That's something I never understand. You are only feeding them and making them earn a lot money. Plus you are the reason of why these scams exist. If no one is using them, then they won't have a reason to exist.

I didn't buy btc in 2011 when it was a few dollars, I considered bitcoin is a useless internet coin or ponzi scam like many others think. I have to regret but no chance to get my life back.

For my personality, my worst decision, at I put a lot of my funds into the cloud mining site(HO) and then I short time after that HO turn up into the scam and I lost all of my funds in them and the fuckin decision is made by me. but after it, I got some experience to never touched with cloudmining again and caused by seeing the suggestion a lot of people in here giving a bright thinking for me. The total amount of i invest on them is 1,5 BTC.

so good thing that i didn't do the same thing as yours. i didn't put a lot of my funds to some cloud mining sites such as Hashocean because i already sense it coming that their website will shutdown . that time i am just starting to earn from signature campaign so that i haven't tried to invest my some of my coin there .

People do act perfect only when they get enough maturity. But, all the decisions are taken for a good cause unfortunately turning into worst. People so far sharing their experience for their concluded decision, hope your investment is also completed with a better benefit for you.

My worst decision was investing into cloud mining by 2013 in CEX site. I lost around 0.01 BTC, then they were very big amount for me because I were earning from faucets only that at the times.

Yes, worst decisions will not be possible if you have enough experience and knowledge. But, all the time we cannot be so aware what is going to happen. That is the reason this thread is spreading awareness about people's mistakes to new comers.
