All we know here is that It's going to be something about Megaupload and Bitcoin, at least this is all I know. Any ideas on how big this is going to be ?

I really like that guy only the government don't like him at all. Hope he can manage to keep megaupload online this time. With Mega upload people had really a doubt if he could keep it online but sofar that is working great. He was a lot in court the last years in fight about megaupload. I think most of us remember how megaupload was working years before and what could be good if bitcoin is integrated is that megaupload will probably accept bitcoin payments and maybe they will give the reward to the affiliates on bitcoin so this is a good news.

Last time i read about megaupload owner he were going to the jail because copyrights complaints, but i dont know nothing else besides those. Megaupload were allowing people to get easy money to share their videos and materials, were a big cloud service paying all, hope it back and with bitcoin together will be amazing feature and a step to others companies follow.

I am curious what this project is. I hope it is something P2P or something that utilizes the blockchain somehow making his project uncensorable. But maybe it will just be megaupload accepting bitcoin payment.

Unlike Megaupload 1.0 , 2.0 will probably be encrypted which will make it impossible for governments to know the content of files. He is also working on project called MegaNet (which as far as I know will use the Blockchain technology)

I don't think that accepting Bitcoin as payment method is something that someone would tweet about , I mean It's good news but It's not that important.

Personally, I think the impact of Kim's megaupload will be small on the price.

The decision of whether to hard fork will be the next big event- unfortunately we do not know when. We are all waiting to found out more...

I'm not sure this is going to be good for BTC. It's already quite often associated with drugs, so we don't want it to related to copyright issues from pirated movies or the like. I'll wait and see.

Let's see if he's able to earn as much money as he earned on the good times. The only thing that gave him his fortune are the copyrighted uploads, and therefore the huge amount of traffic without Adblock. Nowadays, almost everyone uses Adblock, therefore he won't generate as much revenue as before with his scam ads (mostly SWF interactive ones, which are now seen pretty bad).
He should include a good transfer ratio, download at maximum speed for free and find a way to avoid advertisement blocks.

Kim Dotcom has been posting about "something" for a month now. If it would be something interesting and "groundbreaking", he could just post what it is all about. If it really is "groundbreaking", he'd get all the exposure he needs.
But instead, he's not letting us decide what is groundbreaking, he's decided on his own it is. And that makes me think it isn't all that interesting.

On the other hosting platforms users dont get paid for uploading files there, people get paid if they get lots of downloads of these files, and people get paid when referr others and they pay for a premium membership and here goes bitcoin as I said.

Indeed, Kim Dotcom is definitely a king when it comes to announcements. We have to wait and see how and when his announcements will really materialize. However I'm highly skeptical if he will be as successful as in the past, unless he has some true innovations at hand. A simple encrypted revival of megaupload won't suffice.

Regardless if Kim's new projects will be profitable for him, the possible positive impact for Bitcoin will be very limited. Bitcoin has simply grown too big, for a medium scale project having an significant impact. The silkroad times are long over. Today there are many fully legal and legitimate applications for Bitcoin, its success is no longer dependent on dealings in the shadows.

Atleast this time the governments won't be able to shut down his services as easily as before. Through bitcoin payments are atleast guaranteed and no bank can say no to working with him as he doens't need them anymore.

Looking forward to what he has to bring to the table, especially after recent negative news surrounding bitfenix.

Any form of service that attracts new users to bitcoin and has them use bitcoin is a win, no matter who offers the service.

i guess it's kind of mass uploading site which reward the uploaders bitcoin for every download or traffic and it's just a common things,and if it's about file hosting,can't get far from it

I think it will be a decentralized uploading platform with private key for each account and you can access your content from anywhere without any account login just need private key to decrypt your file. This will be cool and nobody gonna know what is inside the file you uploaded.
