It's a shame that most exchangers don't accept MoneyPak reloads from clients in exchange for bitcoins. It's pretty much the easiest, cheapest and most anonymous way for the average Joe to give funds to an exchanger in the US.

Bitcoinexchange.cc used to do it until probably GreenDot froze their funds because they reached some kind of internal GreenDot limit on their card. Then it's a headache for them to get the funds.

There is a solution however. Or several of them. You don't have to use GreenDot's crappy cards to accept MoneyPak reloads. You can reload any of the following cards with MoneyPak.

http://www.accountnow.com
http://www.rushcard.com
https://www.mangomoney.com
http://www.bankfreedom.com
https://www.readydebit.com
http://www.upsidecard.com
https://mistarjetas.univision.com
http://www.achievecard.com
http://www.visionprepaid.com
https://www.yapsend.com
https://www.hrblock.com/bank/emerald_prepaid_mastercard/

If that's not enough, just check www.moneypak.com - they have a lot of cards listed.

So, just buy a few of these cards and you can take MoneyPak reloads to your heart's content. Wink

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

If you're in Europe try https://www.entropay.com/ . I can't vouch for it yet, as I just found out about it.

These are all american credit cards I assume?  Or are they some kind of prepaid cards that anyone can purchase?

I imagine the problem is that it's against the policy of those cards to be used as taking payments.

Additionally, when the volume is high, it would become very difficult to deal with. How would they convert $10k of moneypak cards per day to actual cash?

They're American and you need a SS# to sign up for them.

They are American, but not credit cards. They are debit cards. You can fund them with MoneyPaks.

The Univision cards, and possibly some others, you do not need a social security number for. You can put in a Mexican Consulate ID number or even a college ID number, strange as it sounds. These cannot possibly be checked, so I'm pretty sure you would be ok with this. Then all you need is a US address to receive it at. Search the goog for "USA" "Mail Forwarding" Wink

um.... the ATM?

This is actually a lot more difficult than it appears - they shut off cards and are really rude when you load just a couple thousand in a day. After they shut off a card, you can't apply for another card with the same SS# - ever.

I use upsidecard and like it quite a bit. It's got a max balance of 10k so there shouldnt be any worry of them shutting off your card.

Yeah, anyone got a list of cards that you definitely DON'T need personal info / SS# for? I know you need it for the greendot cards.
